Actually I've never used 4chan before, but I am aware that it is a site dedicated to humour somewhat in the style of Something Awful and YTMND. I also know the histroy of the site.

Fourchan itself is a colossal failure, overrun by immature brats and furries. It's not worth bothering with.
There are other chans however that are pretty decent.
