Bette Midler as "The Rose" said "Women are the waitresses at the Banquet of Life"

I could never find if that was a direct Janis Joplin quote. Gawd, I love Janis.

Life can suck and life is not fair, for anyone. We have AS and it sucks big time some times. But think about the young boys that stormed the beaches of Normandy and had their lives snuffed out at the age of 18. Think about the man and the hundreds of other innocent people who've spent decades in prison for a crime they didn't commit. Think about the baby that contracted HIV from her mother only to die by the time she was 10. Think about the thousands of mentally ret*d people in this world who are just struggling with understanding the simplest thing. I do get down on myself with my AS, but life is not easy for anyone. Who else would you want be. Would you like to be a famous actor who makes millions of dollars doing movies........like Owen Wilson who attempted to commit suicide a few months back? I think that is the purpose of life is to face our obstacles head on and make the best of life.

Does anyone else agree with that? Does anyone still think that?

You know, in real life, I think I am missing one or two marbles. I guess it makes it easier to take on life this way.

Life is what I make of it. I could be miserable about the hand it has dealt me, but I could also be miserable if I was an NT with a big house and lots of money, ten nannies and seemingly not a care in the world. I could also be happy in either situation, so I choose to try and enjoy life. I grump a lot, lol, but overall I like life and I'm content.

life is like a box of chocolates. there are many different flavors inside. some of them have caramel, others raspberry creme filling, some are dark chocolate, some got nuts. you never know what you'll get.

my Uncle Albert would say " us crazy people have the most fun, you know!" It helped me to realize my sense of humor and that has been quite an asset to me in my life.
Nothing gets you out of a funk like finding the humor in a situation while eating Forrests' "box o' choclits" and never knowing what you'll get.

your grammar is atrocious.

the past participle of lay is lain.

lay, laid, lain

the subject of this thread should have been "i was lain! i was lain! i was lain!"

99.9% of the time, my life is pretty peachy. Of course there are 'moments' but I don't dwell on them.

I used to be suicidal and all that, then I figured "why waste my time", so I decided to be as happy as I can for the time I'm here.

Anyway, I love life. I am missing a lot of "normal" things, but I wouldn't trade anything I have for those things. I'm happy with what I've got, and I think that's what life's about - having realistic goals and enjoying what you have and/or what's within your reach. I'm happy anyway.
