For me its that movie "The Cube".

I don't know why, I guess it was because the whole film is just about...tension. i was strung out on the board like someone about to be drawn and quartered.

you know when you see people in comics etc pulling their hair out? and maybe hiding behind things, chewing their nails off, clapping their hands over their ears and humming "Somewhere over the rainbow" out loud....
that was literally, me.

what a stressful movie.

When I was seven, the movie that freaked me out the most was Altered States. Now I watch that film and just marvel at the (still) impressive special effects for the hallucinations.

Two types of movies do that to me;

icky/scary ones
- The Butterfly Effect
- Final Destination
- Saw
- Hostel

icky/comedy ones
- Something about Mary (zipper scene)
- American Pie

That scene makes my stomach feel queasy.

I saw the exorcist (most recent modern one) and that was icky, so much blood and only 2 characters survived out of everybody there. soooooo scary.

The modern exorcist movies seem to concentrate on blood and gore.

The original was so much scarier... try watching that in a cold, darkened room.

(Unless you mean "the version you've never seen" which is essentially the old one with a few extra SFX).

oh... the other thing that makes me squeamish is;

Some mother do ave em...

cringeworthy.

mummy? retch.

I can't watch forbidden planet or time machine (original version). Somehow my grandmother thought it would be a good idea for me to watch those when I was four, and so they have entirely shaped my id. I have been afraid of the dark, footsteps, invisible monsters that can't be stopped, blue furry apes that drag you away in the night and eat you, etc. since I can remember.

The scene and the sound effects and music where the monster from the id burns through high density metals and rock to get to Dr. Morbius is forever etched in the deepest, darkest, scariest corners of my mind.

I have also been known to watch horror movies through holes in an afghan blanket. I feel safer that way.

Any Horror movies.

I used to be a fan of them...but as i've gotten older, I've become to avoid them as they make me cringe.

In specific though, the most recent one is "I am Legend". Not so much a horror...but those creepy mutant like humans who were infected by that virus were just so disturbing.

I dont belive in the paranormal at alll but somehow in those kinds of movies anything can happen so I freak out.
I was watching "The Others" with my buddy and screamed like a girl and grabbed him in the theatre and he sceame d"hands off fag!"

The ring freaked me out, sixth sense, exorcist.

I am too afraid to watch Exocism of Emily Rose.

I have not seen Hostel or that sort of new film, but that torture porn crap just disgusts me.Not the film, but that people could watch it for enjoyment .

Come to think of it, growing up, most ghost movies would do the trick. I had a brief but intense fascination period on ghosts, more or less when I was 10 or 11.

So you get the idea, even Ghostbusters, with it's now outdated special effects, would scare me to death. 8O Then.;)

8O The Krell id monster scared the bejesus out of me when I was little (~6?). Invisible, unstoppable, those sounds it made, that cast of it's claw. 8O I would go hide behind the couch whenever the id monster was about. These days Forbidden Planet is one of my favorite movies.

Probably the movie that scared me most when I was little was the original The Blob. Another horrifying monster, can go through crack under doors, largely invulnerable, and once it gets on you get are digested alive. :!: I spent many a night in bed in the dark terrified, looking around the room and repeatedly wondering, "Did that just move?" 8O

These days I'm very hard to shake; or so I tell myself. A few years ago a friend showed me Requiem for a Dream. Probably the most disturbing movie I've ever seen; I will not watch it again.

Good fortune,

- Icarus is delta green...

oh, not me. that movie is absolute kryptonite. although i will admit, i do think the plot line is interesting. just can't shake the childish terror at the music and sounds. i crumple into a ball and start screaming.

Time Machine did this to me. And I had nightmares for years after watching the untouchables as a very small child. am still convinced i'll end up with a bullet in my forehead.

*wonders WTF was wrong with people showing her this s**t*
