Child psychiatrists

I read that a psychiatrist isn't supposed to treat children unless they're a child psychiatrist. So at what age is a person no longer considered a child? 17? 18? 13?

I know I had to go see a child psychiatrist when I was 17. So I guess the age is 18.

I wouldn't know if there is an age limit to that kind of thing. I assume it may depend on what country one lives in.

Until when you're a child? Well.

Where I live you can legally see a child psychologist/psychiatrist until the age of 21.

But they try sending you away if you're 18+ years. To get rid of you. Because they claim 'every issue you have then must be an adult issue'. Which isn't true obviously.

I somehow doubt only 18+s go to regular psychiatrists though?

I don't know. I was going to psychiatrists from age 15 onwards.
