Hi, all!

Very new here...I am an NT woman with a son who has just been diagnosed with AS. I hope I'm not being flip here, but I actually think AS can be kinda cool.

The biggest problem seems to be when people don't know that's what they have. They'll be at constant mismatch with those around them, not knowing why. But when you know what the issue is, that makes it so much easier. I guess it has to do with accepting oneself and looking for the strengths...then highlighting them.

Then learning to trust others to give you some guidance in the areas you fall short. But that's what life is about for everyone, isn't it?

Anyway, it's a pleasure reading so many thought-provoking posts on the forum.

My best to all!

Hi there and welcome! I recently joined also, as my son has just been diagnosed. He is only 2. I know what you mean though - I am just scared of what he might have to go through from people not understanding him (like inner turmoil and such), my hubby was also recently diagnosed (at the age of 33), and I do think he is pretty cool, but I know he struggles a lot inwardly. Anyway, it is great to "meet" a fellow parent! :) How old is your son?

Welcome! Wrong Planet can be a great resource - you might like the Parent's Forum too. Greetings to your son from the Lab Pet.
