I voted Schindler's List as well, as it was unbelievably profound and moving and provocative. A close second would have to be something not on the list, The Color Purple, which was quite beautiful as well. I also love all those mentioned in the poll (with the possible exception of War of the Worlds, but that's just a personal preference) as well as Hook and The Terminal. I'm sure I'll love Munich as well once I see that. What a fantastic director.

A.I. - but it's not on the list and I can argue both sides of the it's a Kubrick movie/it's a speilberg movie.

Voting for Close Encounters of the Third Kind

Interesting thread, it's a shame we can't add more options to the poll though because there's alot of other movies of his that are better than some of the ones listed (I mean, no Raiders of the Lost Ark, what the?) I think a lot of people would go down the Schindler's List/Jaws path. My top 10 Spielberg films are

1. Schindler's List (1993)
2. Jaws (1975)
3. Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977)
4. Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
5. ET: The Extra Terrestrial (1982)
6. Jurassic Park (1993)
7. Saving Private Ryan (1998)
8. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989)
9. Empire of the Sun (1987)
10. Duel (1971)

The other ones I can recall are:

The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997)
War of the Worlds (2005)
Catch Me If You Can (2002)
The Color Purple (1985)
Artificial Intelligence: AI (2001)
1941 (1979)
The Terminal (2004)
Minority Report (2002)
The Sugarland Express (1974)
Hook (1991)
Twilight Zone: The Movie (1983) (His segment)
Always (1989)
Amistad (1997)

I can't rank Munich till I see it though I feel this vibe like this year for Spielberg is similar to '93 (he had a blockbuster and an intimate portrayal with JP and SL), this year we get the same with War of the Worlds and Munich.

"1941" (director's cut) is by far the best thing he ever made! :D

All of the movies listed above are good (I haven't seen Catch Me If You Can, so I can't comment on that). I really can't pick one of them over the others. I like them all.

Yeah, Schlinder's List is excellent but it's so hard to choose between the three!! E.T., Schindlers and Jaws. I want to see his new film, Munich!!

I hope the Wayans brothers actually go through with making Amistad II- The Return Home (see Scary Movie). It wouldn't be a Stephen Spielberg movie because it is something that only a back guy could get away with. I'd pay to go see that though.

It's good to see Jurassic Park getting appreciation. Thirteen years later and movies still haven't caught up to Spielberg's dinosaurs in realism. Plus it didn't forget to be a kickass movie in general. :D
