I have to take a communications class

At my college thet require all people to take a communications class regardless. This already bothers me and my logical mind, but what makes it worse is my only choices are public speaking and interpersonal communication. I feel like my brain is going to explode I wish I could get exempt which I will try, but the person I talked to said this rarely happens. I am afraid it will impact my mental health and future severely. I wish I could just not take and be given credit for taking a on how to research or learned about research methods. Even oral exam would be fine with me. I really do not like verbal communication with people unless I know them or feel comfortable doing so. Even writing essays and having the content criticized would be fine with me.
