Problems with cotton balls?

Does anyone here just hate touching cotton balls and cringe when they have to rip them apart for whatever reason...or is it just me?

I hate those aspirin bottles with the cotton balls inside. I just pick it out of there and just squeezing it sends chills down my spine, and I've never been able to figure out why.

I detest cotton balls. I feel like they have a terrible sound when I touch them or squeeze them. I can't even describe the sound except to say it's really irritating. Also very detestable is to put a cotton ball between your molars and bite down on it. Only a little better than biting down on a wad of tin foil.

I actually like cotton balls. What I have trouble with is wet paper.

My 2nd Husband (Asperger one) used to hate the cotton stuffing in medicine bottles. I could chase him around the room with it.

Yes, touching cotton balls has always been down right painful for me.

Haha I know what you mean...I can use them and stuff but they are weird and cringing...I didn't like them when I was younger lol.

Someone in my science class at secondary school also said this but she wasn't an Aspie. Although when she said how she hated cotton wool everyone laughed and teased her about it.

Extreme cottonball phobia. It's funny, but it isn't.

For those of you who experience cotton-ball aversion: Do it matter if they are 100% cotton or fake? I like 100% cotton balls, but the fake ones are horrible. They are the ones with the squeakiness, in my experience.

I meant to post an answer about how I hate it when the dentist tries to wipe the inside of my mouth with something dry and cottony. That is most horrible. It looks like I never actually posted that, though.

For me it's kleenex actually. That and Saran type wrap (the generic stuff is more plasticy than clingy so I use it when I have to) and silky feeling things. I could nearly throw up when I have to touch kleenex or saran, especially balled up used saran. I've gagged many times and people just look at me like I'm strange.

I'm fine with the cotton balls you get in bgs. The ones the put in pill bottle I hate. The feeling, the sound, they just send shivers down my spine.

I hate the sound they make when I squeeze them or rip them apart.
When I was at the age when I could pull my baby teeth out, mom would make me put cotton balls in my mouth to soak up the blood. They felt horrible! First they were dry and made horrible noise, then they got all wet and slimy. No pleasantness!

I can use them though, just I prefer not to.

I've never seen a pill bottle with cotton stuffed in it.

Hmm. I have trouble with them sometimes, cause of the way they feel. But not all the time.
Ugh. I hate it when I have an ear-infection, and my mom has to force one partly into my ear... ew.

I"m another with an aversion to cotton balls! I agree that the ones in the bottles are the worst, probably because they have to be squeezed to get them out and they make that noise and scrape on the sides getting it out, <<shiver>>.
