I'm just joking :) But as I was watching it for the first time in years, I couldn't help but notice that he does have some aspie traits: eccentric, immature interests, odd facial expressions, wears the same clothes....lol

Of course, that's a scripted character he played. In real life he gets busted exposing himself in a porno theater. Still aspie? Maybe!

Paul Reubens is simply someone that figured that extremes of character would sell well, and wasn't afraid of pushing. It is the same idea as guys like Jim Carrey. I like the aloof almost arrogant character PR sometimes plays like in Matilda, but HATE the peewee herman character.

I could never see her traits. Her being an outcast and not having any friends is because she is very smart. Kids don't want to hang around her for that reason.

I think she has it.. I have even seen others discuss that on other forums. She may be very smart but isn't like the average 8 year old and I always thought she had traits... it wasn't intended that way I am sure but thats how I see it.

I read it and said to myself that could be the only thing you could call him and be PC about it.

Daria Morgendorfer - Daria, animated show on mtv several years ago. I saw a few episodes after I learned about aspergers and she is one without a doubt.
_
Anya - Buffy the vampire slayer.
The most lovable aspie I've ever seen portrayed anywhere.

Wel who knows WHY so many hate the average AS person. I was NICE and polite TO A FAULT! Even when I was BLUNT, I tried to respect people. I got to where I could be a kind of helpful ghost. I didn't interrupt, often didn't speak, wasn't in people's ways, helped people move, "loaned" money, helped, etc... and otherwise it was like I wasn't there. STILL I got picked on.

Anyway, lisa DOES show some signs. REALLY into jazz, not caring about social things, not being able to fit in, but wanting to fit in. Her perception is off to some degree.

ANYA on the other hand, wasn't even human, at least not for a long time. She never even TRIED to be reasonable or understand males. She figured they were simply the cause of all ills. So I don't think you could read much into her actions.
It IS funny that she later ended up falling for a guy.

I love Daria. The one where she gets sent to a "reeducation" class becasue of her "low self-esteem".

Wing, who is the "mother" of AS, says Mr. Bean is a perfect example of someone with AS (a male example, of course).

I see it. :P

I have the entire run of Pee-Wee's Playhouse on DVD.

Plus I have both his movies (anyone remember Big Top Pee-Wee?)

Does Paul Ruben have AS or just the character he plays. Either way he is a creep.

I would assume just the character.

The Pee Wee League topic

I lost all respect for him after he was convicted of the bodily exposition in a public place, where children were known to frequent.

There are many celebrities with problems of a sexual nature, many of which could be hurtful to children and other vulnerable persons. I have nothing but contempt for performers who abuse their position of trust and who think they can act with impunity.
