I remember having blood drawn as a teenager - I nearly passed out, and that was before they could find a vein. Many years later, I decided to give blood donation a try, and it wasn't that bad - I just look away when they're doing it. Since I'm O-negative and CMV-negative (aka. Baby Blood), I donate ...

There was nothing sweet when I was sixteen. I was in high school and the bullying was at its worse, and unlike the other kids, I never got to drive (I was told that I would never be able to do so, but I later discovered that they were very wrong). I to get up at a ridiculous hour every morning to ca...

I first met Haley through UF's CARD office and the Impact Autism student group when she was working on her undergrad - she also does art as a hobby and has written a few books about her experiences with middle and high school. She's done some fairly incredible things. I also met someone else through...

For many years, I was also put on Zoloft and simply left on it because I was told I had "anxiety" because of "brain chemistry imbalance" and apparently it was something I was not supposed to have (though I now realize that what I had then was not anxiety by any means - I was just...

I've experimented with Linux several times since the early 2000s, but I was never able to get completely away from Windows, so I would rarely boot it up. Earlier this year, I got fed up with Windows 10 doing certain things without warning (shutting down to update, resetting my default applications, ...

My brothers and I had several boxes of the stuff - mostly from the 1990s with a little bit from the 1980s. Most of it is in storage at my mother's place. Although I'm not likely to have kids any time soon (being single kind of gets in the way), I'm tempted to go out there some day and put it to good...

Back in the early 90s, it was simply "Nintendo" (and the Master System was simply "Sega"). When the SNES came out, it became the "regular Nintendo", and now the NES

Being in Florida (and as someone who uses a bicycle for transport year round), it's generally too hot to wear them on a daily basis. Although jeans are allowed at, I personally prefer a lightweight pair of slacks. In the winter when the weather is cooler, I may wear them on weekends.

I personally never had one of my own, but several people in the family had them. My dad had a couple that he let my younger brother and I use (not sure if they were genuine Walkman players or just portable cassette players), because we had a large collection of books on tape, including Paddington Be...

My writing has never been very good - in primary school, the teachers always commented that it was "messy" and I had extra lessons to help improve it. I changed schools many times, which meant that I never properly learned to write (or read) cursive - not to mention that being in different...

As a bicycle commuter, I make a trip just to go to the grocery store, though I may do other things on the way there (but never on the way back because I can't take everything with me into another store and I don't want the frozen stuff to melt. The primary reason for this is just convenience, as I d...

I think I do have some ambivert qualities. If I'm around people I know, I will join the conversation, make jokes, etc. and I do get lonely and sometimes a bit depressed if I'm "left out". I cannot stay at home all day (sometimes all I need is to just get out of the house and go for a bike ...

Being in Florida we have a lot of alligators. There is a pond in the complex I live in and a few on campus with signs reminding people to not feed the alligators, including (until a few years ago) one reminding people to "not swim when alligators are present". Generally they do not bother ...

For many years, I had no interest in dating. At the time, I figured that it was not for me (plus those hormones that get released in most people in their teens didn't happen to me). Now that I'm a bit older, I feel that I need to find someone to settle down and share life with, and possibly raise a ...

Personally I'm a little skeptical, but it could be good - time will tell. KQ6 was definitely the peak of the series - professional actors and realistic (for the time) graphics, as well as a good story and puzzles made the game memorable. KQ7 was a little disappointing with the cartoon graphics and t...
