The problem is, I don't really like the few friends I do have. I can't choose my friends though. Sometimes I wish I could.

For those of you who weren't already aware of that. I once opened a Twitter account just to check it out. It turned out to be so bogus that I had to close it after a week. I can see why media outlets and the like use it, but I don't understand the point of individuals using it. You can't meet anybod...

I've been away for a month, so excuse me. To answer your question, IncredibleFrog, there's a huge difference between this site and Facebook. I can use WP without swallowing all my pride, or making some @$$hole billionaire richer, or wanting to kick my own ass. And I shouldn't have to use something I...

When I first researched Asperger's syndrome, I was struck by the part about engaging in repeated, stereotyped behaviors. I thought about a perennial activity of mine growing up, which was the need to continually be moving without actually doing anything in particular. Sometimes I'd walk in circles a...

Been away for a while, thanx for the responses, I'm glad to see there is a support group here. I'll check out meetup. In the meantime, I got started some projects that might enable me to make connections. We'll see. (btw I refuse to use facebook too.. I thought my original post made that clear, but ...

I haven't seen much research on this, but my wife was telling me about an article that was trying to link autism with preeclampsia. We had a conversation about this, and it got me wondering. My wife had severe preeclampsia, so my son had to be born 10 weeks early via emergency c-section. He weighed ...

telling on a child for a transgression they did not actually make can be used as a form of bullying. Yeah! Like the time in 2nd grade when some new kid grabbed me and started shaking me. I tried to push him away, and when the playground aide came up and said "What's going on?" he immediat...

I've come to the conclusion that about 89% of the world's population are jerks and/or chumps. Only 11% (if that) are people you could conceivably be friends with. I don't have a job anymore, but when I did I was always being accused of some s**t or another by people who wanted to get me fired cuz I ...

I wasn't too good at making friends as a kid but I persisted, and by the time I was in my early 20s, I had a sizable amount of friends. Things were good for awhile. Then that idiotic Facebook came along, and all my friends started dropping off, one by one. Just because I have the sense not to use th...

Yeah, we were considering pulling him out of PE altogether, but he insists he likes PE despite everything. He spends most of his time following and imitating the other kids, which I could see might get on their nerves...but he's just trying to make friends in the only way he knows how. BTW my son's ...

Quick follow-up: apparently there was a witness to the PE incident. The IA saw what happened and reported it. His ABA therapist went and observed him in class, and she got a full report. She hasn't told us all the details yet cuz we're waiting for my wife to be available, but I guess there's a few g...

I would love to learn German! I've tried teaching myself, but I'm not so good at it ( Deutsch ist sehr schwer zu lernen. ) I'm proud to have a Germanic language as my mother-tongue, and I'd like to get back to my linguistic roots. Can you guys give me tips on speaking German? My biggest problems (be...

Yeah, I've never had an instructor or lived in the country. I've had to try teaching myself, and I'm up against a wall with what I can teach myself. Thank you for the correction.
