With me, it's like I'm invisible. I have explained myself at length to people and it all goes in one ear and out the other. This even applies to behaviors that have persisted for years. I have never been one for outings and large gatherings, and I have always refused when asked; yet STILL people act...

I've had terrible luck with counselors and support groups. I always run into people who take no interest in me and speak to me with condescending airs. This is not just me being biased; one of my counselors was too busy hitting on my brother to talk to me, and treated me with contempt (she was later...

Funny this topic should be raised, because I had come here just now to talk about this very subject. I was born into a family of doubters, raised by doubters, and am surrounded on all sides by doubters. Everyone refuses to believe that there is anything different about me, or that I am simply lazy o...

I have a bad history with authority figures, especially when I was a child. I was not rebellious, but I had a tendency to ignore the decrees of authority figures if I felt the order was illogical. If something made no logical sense I simply saw no point in doing it. If said logic was explained to me...

In terms of information and technology, a decade is an eternity. They still stock books about Windows 95.

For literature it isn't a big deal, though I do wish I could find a semi-recent release from them.

My library is woefully out of date (think mid 90s), replaced several shelves of books for shelves of VHS and DVDs, is populated by loud and sometimes violent kids who go there to rent movies and browse the internet, and is patrolled by an armed police officer.

I am not joking.
