2ukenkerl, Thanks for your reply, but since you have no idea what I have done for my son other than a few lines in a post asking for help ( not abuse) you really have no basis for anything you have said. And just for your info., I did start in 5th grade fighting for help, I did do everything I could...

I wish I knew how to make the world go away the way my kids do. I wish I could pick up an instrument and learn to play it. I wish I could be as innocent as they are. I wish when I was little that I did not understand when other kids were being mean. I wish I could strip down to my undies anywhere an...

My youngest, now 3 1/2, had sensory from the day he was born. It started with oral issues, feeding was a nightmare, to touch ( he would only allow plush toys to be near him) and moved on from there. At about the age of 5 months he acted very much like your son. It wasn't so much clothes ( although t...

Well it's been a while since I have been on here. Things get a little crazy here with 4 kids, 3 on the spectrum and one with Type I diabetes and still no help. I could use some advice and support. My AS/Bipolar son graduated high school and turned 18 in June. HS was not a great place for him and the...

motherofalien Thanks, that helps alot. Your stories touched my heart and gave me hope. We are all just kind of in a stupor trying to get this all together. We are still in the fine tuning stage so it is kind of scary. It's one thing to set up an insulin dose for a kid who is stuck in a hospital bed...

Hello everyone hope all is well with you. We are doing ok. Carly(my daughter) is doing good and holding up. She has still been running high with her sugar, but they upped her bedtime insulin and I think that may have done it.......I hope. We had numbers in the 100's for the first time continuously l...

I am sorry I have been MIA a few days, but we have had yet another crisis. After stressing about the evals ( which seem so unimportant right now) on Tuesday 22nd we felt great on Wednesday thinking about how great they went and then the world turned upside at the peds visit that evening. We took her...

Welcome, I am a mom of four three on the spectrum. A 16 yr old aspie, a 7 yr old HFA and a 2 1/2 yr old ASD, my middle guy (12) lurks around there too but his higher social skills and functioning keep him from needing as much help and so we have not had him tested. I have learned so much being here ...

Lots of interesting stuff here. I do wonder if we fall into the routine and I believe we do sometimes, but not always. We have been working on alot of public behavior stuff with all of them lately so I think we are doing some things differently now, but not really any big changes. HMMM, are we reall...

With my guy being 12, I was just thinking about a bicycle built for two...Daisy, Daisy......LOL. If seen by friend she can always just say, "yeah, my Mom is lame, but it makes her happy if I go with her" and then they can all laugh at me. This might give him the feeling of being on a bike and learni...

DISCLAIMER:MY OPINION,LOL. Without starting a whole argument on the different reasons for autism or the different approaches to treatment, here is my advice passed on to me by the dev. ped.(extremely educated and qualified in autism) that dx'd my son at 18 months. She left the state and went back to...

Basically yesterday we spent the whole time going over histories, reviewing what had been done and what hasn't, looking at my daughters school work, and generally getting to know e... |

I know y'all have different situations, as your kids are Aspies and not "classic autism". That's why I find it odd that older Aspies have such a hard time with restaurants. . I have a mix of them, lol. My oldest is dx'd aspie, but the other two are HFA an ASD so we get alot of different reactions to...

This is what I replied to someone else who had talked about this ame issue we all seem to dread. I usually have one trying straighten out the mess on the table, one whining, one trying to get away and one who refuses to eat. Sometimes we take turns chasing down the little guy as he runs through the ...
