As other people have mentioned, the internet is your friend. In this age of mass communications, you don't need to speak to make connections anymore. Just find an online community or chatroom that is compatible with your hobbies and interests and befriend people there. It's easier said than done, bu...

Forum: Social Skills and Making Friends   Topic: Why do people avoid hugging me?

It could be because others think you don't want to be hugged. If you do want to be included, I suggest making an effort to be more open with your body language, maybe even subtly signal that you want to be hugged when they get to you.

If your son is being bullied for stimming and in general being himself, then that is not his fault, it is the fault of the bullies. I suggest talking to the school administration and expressing your concerns. Furthermore, I suggest giving your son as much love, support and encouragement as you can. ...

In my experience, it depends on how much harm lying or not lying causes. Lying about taking that last cookie from the jar or how late you went to bed is a fine lie. Lying to someone about something important is pretty bad.

You should ask her why she thinks that. If it's not a valid reason, then screw her. In the end, you don't have to be satisfied with being single just becuase she or anyone else wants you to be.

Sounds like she has other stuff going on in her life, and she doesn't have time for a relationship at the moment. I'd say keep her as a friend, don't count on a relationship happening, but don't close the door completely either.

I've been through what you have. I'd suggest putting in effort to find people who think similarly to you. Think of what your interests are, and see if there are any groups devoted to it within your community. Alternatively, find an online community, where you don't have to worry about not knowing wh...

So I have this friend who I consider, or at least used to consider, very close to me. I met her when I first started university about two years ago, and our friendship has had ups and downs since then, as all relationships do. However, a few months ago, she did something that made me question everyt...

So I've been friends with this person in my college for almost two years now. At first, things were great between us - we had similar interests, similar outlooks on life, and... well, we were just quite similar to each other. However, some problems began to show soon enough. A few months after we me...

As someone who has been through very similar situations before, I can give you this advice: First of all, ask yourself if you can stand still being friends with him if he turns you down. If you aren't, then I recommend you don't tell him. If you are willing to accept that possibility however, I woul...

I've noticed increasingly that in recent times, the concept of gender, and whether it's a binary or a spectrum, has become quite possibly one of the most inflammatory subjects both on the internet and in the real world. Right now, there are increasing numbers of people who identify as "non-bina...

Unless the United States and Russia enter into full-scale war with each other (A situation that has a very low chance of happening, at least for now), the world as a whole will probably be just fine by the time 2018 rolls around. The situation in North Korea you refer to is certainly concerning, but...

Culture is an incredibly complex, nebulous subject that encompasses multiple different elements of a society. While I would agree that certain systems of values and morals are more egalitarian, inclusive, and overall progressive, I think it's kind of ridiculous and black-and-white to say that every ...

I understand the term "friendzone" has taken on a different meaning as of late, but the original term refers to when someone that you like romantically only thinks of you as a friend. And let's be honest here, who wouldn't feel at least a little sad in that situation?

What's the story going to be about?

It's a romantic dramedy set in a modern day college setting. It will start out as a typical boy-meets-girl story, but then sort of dive into the aspects of relationships and romance that most love stories don't really tackle.
