I remember my first kiss. I was 26, had hopes and dreams of moving away somewhere to be with the younger crowd. That never happened so I stuck around, got introduced to a friend, went on a date, and had my first kiss several weeks after that. It was like magic.

I can see this. The first and second person I ever dated were friends of friends, and in both instances we started texting only to have our first date several months afterward.
