Mistakes are pretty common. Here is a time-lapse digital painting process by someone who is definitely pretty skilled: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSsby9NrWK4 In the first minute of the video (which corresponds to about 20 minutes of real work time) you can see that the artist selected and rotat...

Well, I guess a depressive disorder, e.g. dysthymia , could be considered a form of insanity! I have the same problem. Mine is kind of cyclical, so even without treatment, I'll be fine for several months, then gradually get sadder and sadder. Then when I have this problem in combination with a legit...

I think you should have the right to keep drawings private. I've had some that I want to keep private and many more that I'm only comfortable sharing with internet anonymity.

Unfortunately, kids are often not afforded the right to privacy on anything.

Are you figuring performers/athletes would be exempt from any wealth-related tax increases? I don't know where you're getting that. I think there are less arguments in favor of those people being taxed because no one ever argues against them being taxed.

I think it probably helps, especially in large quantities. I used to have major social problems pretty bad as a kid, but from ages 9 through 17 I read a crap-ton of fiction. Nose in a book almost constantly. Mostly Animorphs and fantasy novels. While biological maturity, life experience, and owning ...

I'll say yes, but it depends where you're drawing the NT line. By some definitions, I'm already NT. By other definitions, it means something I wouldn't want to be. I like all the BAP personality traits, but a lot people where I live have those traits without having any neurological or developmental ...

Maybe they want you to move in so they can save money? That is, they figure you'll keep your job and pay them a smaller rent than you'd pay living on your own, so there's more money for all of you. Even if they're not facing financial hardship, they'd probably like a couple hundred extra bucks a mon...

I take amphetamine salts (Adderall) for attention problems and "brain fog," but I recently started to suspect that it might be helping with sensory issues to. (Alternatively, withdrawing from it makes sensory issues worse. Hard to tell which.) Alas, the sensory issues are still pretty bad,...

LOL, I also read "grapes" Anyhow, it's weird to me that a lot of people are disturbed by anything sex-related that they personally find unsexy, which is especially annoying with how many things people consider sex-related. For example, bikini swimsuits are considered sexy, so for a t...

The comments about aloofness make me think it's the usual talkative extrovert whining at someone for being an untalkative introvert. I live in a place where introversion is common, and back when I was in school, I'd get a lot of comments to that effect from only certain people. But it still seems a ...

Okay, I never understood that one part of the diagnostic criteria. At least in the DSM 5, difficulty understanding irony/metaphors/idioms/sarcasm is not even part of the diagnostic criteria for ASD. Not even one of those optional symptoms. It's a requirement for Social Pragmatic Communication Disor...

It seems most people have mixed feelings about favors. I'm in this camp. The below is something I've written on it before. When someone does something nice for someone else, the beneficiary often feels obligated to repay the favor in some way. If the benefactor insists that the favor does not need t...

http://oktrends.okcupid.com has some neat, albeit slightly depressing, data on relative attraction between racial groups. Seems like there is a strong trend for people to prefer their own race. It doesn't single out arab or blonde, but I figure blondes are pretty much all white.

It's a common problem for me. I have trouble remembering to brush my hair, and sometimes I don't do a good enough job when I do brush it. Then it gets horribly tangled and it's even harder to get it thoroughly brushed, so it gets increasingly bad until I have these big matted knots that I have to ei...

If anyone's curious about how close to the borderline you can get without quite qualifying for an ASD diagnosis, I'll offer myself as an example. My aspiequiz score is 145 ND and 45 NT, my AQ score is 37, AQ-10 score is an 8. My traits: ⋅ I used to be a complete moron socially, but I have ...
