I can't find any information or studies as to why white bread, made from all purpose [wheat] flour, isn't a low fodmap. Does something happen to the composition of the flour when mixed with other ingredients? Does something happen when it rises? Does it just naturally have fructans and/or oligosacch...

This is very interesting and very true. I find myself getting crabby for no reason towards my husband and kids and I never knew why until my husband and I realized it's because of the impending stress (having visitors, going places, etc.)

That's true about feeding the obsession, I never thought of it like that! I try not to make a big deal about it and it's usually just a part of me asking her about her day. But it definitely makes me think more about it when I ask. Now if I could find a way to turn on that elevator music in my brain...

This whole thing doesn't bother her at all, which I think is pretty amazing because I've always been the type to let every little thing bother me, unless the person wasn't worth being friends with IMO. So because it doesn't bother her, I try not to make a big deal of it, although I do ask her each d...

I have this problem across the board. My daughter just started kindergarten a few weeks ago and has been making lots of friends. Her school is a combination of kids from 5 small towns. One child she's made friends with is from our town and she just went to VBS with her about a month ago, so they've ...

I'm going to say something that will probably come off as very harsh, but I believe it needs to be said. I see so many posts like this from folks who feel they are being ignored, and are not getting the recognition they desire. I certainly understand feeling socially isolated and the thirst of huma...

I've had to wait on God many times, and it's scary and you start to worry, but then you have to remember... Matthew 6:31-34 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that ...

I'm a Christian too...my thought is that you need to pray and ask God what you should do next. Let His will be done in your life. You're making fast decisions and you're quoting scripture, but have you sat down and really talked to God? You've told us things that God has done for you in the past. Su...

wait at least 45 minutes but up to 90 minutes past our official appointment time... A better choice of doctors is about 45 minutes away, and right now that's a bit far for us. 45 minutes away? 90 minute round-trip? By these numbers, you will save time if the more distant alternative keeps you waiti...

Thanks for all the responses, I really appreciate it :) Our pediatrician...sigh. We get there early, wait at least 45 minutes but up to 90 minutes past our official appointment time, and then he talks to me like I've never had a kid before and only for about 5 minutes, if that. A better choice of do...

All 3 of my kids sound like a blend of nerdygirl's son, and that's where I get confused. My 1 year old cries a lot (now, she didn't so much as a newborn), my 4 year old had digestive issues (like aspieduo's child), and my 5 year old lined things up. All of them have had a spell of laughing when disc...

Hello, people of the planet. I am an AS diagnosed parent with an 8mo son. We have recently discovered a most undesirable problem with regular proceedings, such as changing diapers. My default work mode is slow and thorough, whereas my wife is somewhat faster and more willing to "cut corners&qu...

I'm a young dad with autism. I'm 26 and I've got a 2 year old son and a 1 year old daughter. I was only diagnosed very recently, and it marked the end of a 10 year investigation into finding out what is wrong with me. I've gone through every diagnosis of depression, borderline personality, mental i...

Thanks for your replies! ^-^ It really is useful information, DW_a_mom! At least to me :) I enjoy reading about others experiences and it gives me a bit of an idea of what to expect. All kids are different, all aspies are different, and all babies cry, so I know my question is a bit of a mixed bag w...

How early did you know something was different? Did your baby reach milestones appropriately? I'm officially undiagnosed (or my parents never told me - this is more likely), and now I have 3 daughters. All of them are like me in different ways, but don't seem like they could have Aspergers except po...

I usually like to play video games or listen to music, but a couple years ago I used the Internet to teach myself how to crochet. Sometimes my mind needs one thing to focus on and my body feels like I could run a marathon, so I can focus on the yarn and crochet furiously with the hook :D
