I am an advocate of open borders and freedom of movement. The last 30 or so years has seen a massive increase in the militarization of borders all over the world and the criminalization of irregular migration. Patterns of seasonal and other forms of temporary labour migration have existed long befor...

I think it's just having a different set of wiring for the areas that normally produce sexual desire. That's possible. Different parts of the brain work together in ways we still don't understand so it's totally possible that the parts that deals with autism and the parts that deal with sexuality c...

Anarcho-communism, stateless community level governance and sharing of resources. As a software developer, I'm not sure I trust computers to run the world. Well okay, the first question would be.... who programs it? Who brings it to life in the first place? Even if it is capable of advanced learning...

This is really helpful to think about. I'm planning on pursuing a career out of my special interest.... I mean, what else can I really do? There isn't much else really. But still, it's important to start with a realistic, grounded perspective. Also I like the whole thing about "networking autis...

I love the androgynous style. Unfortunately I can't pull it off, but I'll wish I could until the day I die. Androgynous people are beautiful and inspiring to me.

There's a really long story and I don't know if I'm ready to share all of it yet. But it goes something like this. Traumatic experiences robbed me of a safe and healthy time growing up. There may have been isolated bits and pieces of it at a younger age but they began in earnest around age 11-12. Ev...

Oh gosh yes I do this sooooooo much. I'd make an awesome proofreader. I've been reading a lot of academic papers lately and every time I see a typo I cringe and make a huge fuss over it. However, as previously mentioned -- I've spent a lot of time interacting with newcomers and folks who are still l...

I would love to live in one of the buildings downtown where you can stand on your balcony and watch, nice and removed from the crowd, always having the option to shut the door and return to silence if necessary. Ahhh ^__^ I grew up in Vancouver. I attending the annual fireworks festival quite a few ...

I move around too much. I can't seem to stay in one place. I wonder if it's a way that I cope with the feeling of being alien no matter where I go, and with the fact that I can't seem to establish interpersonal connections. Being a nomad excuses those things. Makes me look less "abnormal"....

Isn't it called a "spectrum" for a reason? Everyone manifests it a bit differently.

I hope you can get a second opinion.

I marched in the parade once in Toronto and once in San Francisco. I mostly did it because I felt that the fledgling asexual contingent needed every participant they could get. I don't have any interest in people watching or being in such a big crowd... that scares the crap out of me D: It's great t...

I wasn't aware that ASD described me well until adulthood, but I don't think that would mean I "grew out of it" and I more authentically had it as a child. Not that any of the dozens of psychs I saw as a child gave me good answers anyways. I got a pathetic number of "you're just depre...

Ugh, I've never been able to have pets. I hope that changes someday. It would help with the isolation a lot. :(
