In my diagnostic report the clinician used the word "stereotypical". I think I did fit some of the stereotypes when I was younger. I'm not so sure any more though. |

I've been on zopiclone but I really dislike how it makes me feel. It also gave me a really bad taste in my mouth. I have ongoing sleep problems but won't take zopiclone any more. I do take seroquel at nighttime for a comorbid condition and it helps me sleep. Sometimes tiny doses of that are prescrib... |

I wish I didn't have these difficulties too, but trying to convince myself I'm faking or misdiagnosed just hurts more. Maybe I'm lucky that I'm in a career in the arts where odd people are somewhat accepted and sometimes it's an advantage. I do go back and forth questioning my diagnosis, but if I co... |

I can't say for sure whether that person has bipolar disorder. I have had plenty of confusing social situations but I think those were due more to my diagnosis of aspergers. Generally, when people have come on strong in social situations it has resulted in confusion for me. I wouldn't beat yourself ... |

I definitely have difficulty remembering details when either diagnosis is something I'm struggling with at the time. I'm not sure whether it's the bipolar or the aspergers or both, but I'm pretty sure being in either extreme mood state of bipolar disorder causes memory problems for me. I think both ... |

Hello! I've actually been diagnosed with both Aspergers and Bipolar. I think they definitely play off of each other, at least for me. I can share my experience, but I'm not a doctor or a specialist and only know what I've experienced myself. As I have learned to manage my bipolar disorder, I have fo... |

I used to have extreme difficulty with facial expression and expressing things appropriately. Even watching TV or something funny I would be silent and straight faced, whether I found it funny or not. I didn't even realize that was unusual until I wound up in college and everyone would gather to wat... |

I did some neuropsych testing as part of a study to determine cognitive ability. I didn't want to ask what a lot of it meant, I didn't know if I was allowed, since the study will be running for several years, so I likely am not allowed to know exactly what they're looking at. But I did notice out of... |

I have always had huge anxiety speaking on the phone. As a kid, my dad would write me scripts so I could make phone calls, and as I got older I started writing them myself. In the era of social media and text messaging, I rarely speak on the phone now. Usually when I do it's for medical appointments... |

I've had two MRIs of my head. One was about six years ago, when I started seeing my psychiatrist for bipolar disorder, to make sure there wasn't an organic reason for the mood episodes. As far as I know, nothing unusual turned up. The second MRI was recently, for a study I'm participating in. They c... |

I have ASD and am on an antipsychotic for bipolar disorder and have been on several other antipsychotics for the same in the past, and none of them did a thing to help the ASD symptoms. But you mention emotional reactivity - it's hard to tease apart what comes from ASD, what comes from bipolar, and ... |

I get the "introverted extrovert" too. Check out the term "ambivert". I am quiet with people I do not know, and usually more talkative with people I do know. This leads to people who don't know me assuming I'm shy, and people who do know me, when they encounter me in a group of p... |

I don't tell people because I often get the "oh you don't seem autistic" from people who don't know me well, but every friend I've had who actually has experience with autism has been able to see it without me telling them. So I don't offer the information to people, only the ones who disc... |

I have autism, generalized anxiety, and a couple of other mental health diagnoses and sometimes I come across as weird. I was kind of lucky that as a child I was intensely interested in theater, because participating in writing and acting classes both taught me how to mask it slightly (though people... |

Late addition, I actually am diagnosed with bipolar 1 also, but I get more crap from the GAD diagnosis. Most doctors don't even say anything about the bipolar diagnosis, unless I'm specifically seeking help for bipolar at the time. The only one who really deals with bipolar stuff is my psychiatrist,... |
