Awesome photos in this thread! :D I'm not a good photographer, I just recently started and I'm an absolute beginner, but I'd like to learn... Here are some of my photos: http://ellerfru.deviantart.com/gallery/#Photos I'd really love to get some critique, because I want to improve! So that would be r...

@ curlyfry: I sent a pm. :) Yes, I guess marketing is important... I'm not planning to make it a career, though. I just publish my stuff online to get feedback and advice to improve.

@ Ackman: I'm glad! Thanks! :)

@ gemstone123: Thank you as well! :)

Beautiful, do you have a gallery? I finished a piece 2 months ago. Its not a true original I used some photo reference then manipulated the color. I have started to paint again after figuring out how to color one my sketches in photoshop. I also use acrylics and like the dry brush effect. I'm glad ...

I'm so excited! I always wanted to get postcards with one of my own paintings printed on them, because it will be fun to send them to friends (and anyway, it's difficult to find the kind of postcard I like in stores). And now I'm finally having those made at a print shop! :D You can look at the layo...

Are you on DeviantArt? Yes, I'm on deviantart. http://ellerfru.deviantart.com/ I use watercolor, ink, fineliners, ...

Well, I'm surprised about this, did he/she said it in a honest way? Maybe the water oils could help you, or try the mixed media approach. Good luck (: Yes, I think she was honest about this. She said a lot of her customers are elderly people who don't know anything about art but are just looking fo...

Honestly, that "someone" sounds like he/she doesn't know about paint. There are lots of artists in lots of techniques and mixed media, so try what works for you (: That "someone" was from an art gallery. She basically said, yes, we can sell paintings in that style, but it will be easier and bring m...

And agreed, damn oil smell! gave me headaches , now I'm diving into acrylics, loving it! (: Unfortunately, someone told me that if I want to sell paintings I'll have to use oil because more people want to buy it and I'll get more money for exactly the same painting. Stupid if you ask me. Acry...

Damn! Great! Truly great Eller :D Acrylics? looks like oil, how did you get those thick strokes? btw, what does "malpappe" mean? Thanks again! :D Yes, it's acrylics. I used modelling paste for the thick parts. I painted using a palette knife and my fingers. (Paintbrushes are SO overrated.) "Malpapp...

Why do you need so many pencils? o_o I draw A LOT and yet... 100 pencils are going to last several years.
I'd advise you to buy more paper, though. Especially different kinds of paper, with different textures. It's always useful to have something to choose from.
