My fake smile looks fake Heh my fake smile makes me look like an animal baring it's teeth at you. I perfected my "neutral face" when I was in first grade and trying to hide my depressed face because my father had died several months earlier and we were making Father's Day cards in class a...

I pace when under stress, bigtime. I also talk to myself and think out loud a lot. My husband gets annoyed because I think out loud around him and hell respond to me and I'll say something like "I know, I wasn't even talking to you, I was just thinking out loud" and then he gets upset and ...

My husband does this to me ALL THE TIME even though I'm constantly asking him to please say what he means. Just yesterday for example he asked me if I would please come upstairs early today (I come upstairs at the same time every morning so that I can shower and plan out/get ready for my day - he kn...

An autistic kid is an extra challenge. If (in a hypothetical situation) a pregnant woman were to find out the baby would be autistic (this already happens with Down syndrome) and that she doesn't think she'd be able to cope then I see nothing wrong with aborting it. And this wouldn't wipe out autis...

As much of a terrible hate-group as Autism Speaks is, I will never wish cancer on anyone. In fact, I hope she lives to see that group she runs called out for all of the lies, manipulation, and oppression of autistic people that they do in the name of "finding a cure" before she leaves this...

Hm, let's see here.. Sometimes my sense of smell just goes away completely and I don't notice until one day I smell something and realize I haven't smelled anything for awhile. Taste is ... just.. what it is. Nothing notable about it. My eyesight has always been better than 20/20 until recently, and...

^^ following up, I was just looking aroudn online and it says that the amount that I would have to pay per month for three people is going to be around $727 (family plan) or $250 per month per individual ($750). PER MONTH. 8O So lets see, at $15/hr at 40 hours per week that's still only $600 before ...

If I had a paying job that I could do via my ocmputer I'd be all set, saving up my own money for whatever it gets really bad here again. But two degrees in web programming/writing/philosophy type stuff sounds great but I don't know what to do with it. But I do type over 90 words per minute too so i...

I told my daughter (age 12, 7th grade) that any time she wants to homeschool just say the word and I've got her back on this. Just knowing the option is there gives her control and helps us both, to know that if something is too much we have a quick and thought-out alternative ready to go. She would...

I have two thoughts on this and I don't know if either one will be useful but I'll share anyway just in case. First thought - make a deal with your parents that you will do all of these things if somehow you have the expenses covered by someone else, but as things stand you simply cannot afford any ...

Cheer up! Not every principal in the world is like that! I have an IEP too, and hardly any of my teachers even bothered to read it, and let's not get started on my nightmarish Grade 11 English Teacher... :skull: Ugh, I hope that you're not dealing with anyone nightmarish right now (not sure if you'...

That's so weird, I had that problem as a child big-time and still feel awkward with it even now. IT's much easier now that most of my interacting with people is online, I can type it better than speak it. I have problems with thank you's now most often when it's a compliment I"m supposed to be ...

I will tell you all what i'm really good at. Losing. I haven't been here that long but it seems to me that judging by your posts you're good at expressing yourself/communicating in a dark sort of way. There's a market for that. Not just dark like horror stories but I'm sure there are / have been au...

I can only speak about my own experience... I've been on adderall for about 10 years but not for ADHD even though it's an ADHD medicine (and therefor a stimulant, as they all are - ADHD folks have opposite effects for stimulants and depressants - caffeine also probably makes you sleepy I would bet, ...

I tried to very quickly rescan the posts to find it. But it if is the post about people having to clarify that because others are too stupid to know the difference (sorry if I did not get it quite correct), I got a HUGE laugh out of that one! I just won't try to convince my doctor relatives of that...
