Interesting article in the New York Times: For centuries thinkers have assumed that the uniquely human capacity for reasoning has existed to let people reach beyond mere perception and reflex in the search for truth. Rationality allowed a solitary thinker to blaze a path to philosophical, moral and... |

Sex has something to do with love in the same way dance has something to do with love. It's not a difference in kind, but possibly in intensity. And the intensity varies, so whatever.
Edit: Don't couples dance anymore? |

Knees hurt? Then maybe you shouldn't be on your knees. Get a new position. Or at least another pillow. |

I've never quite understood why others complain so much about urinating during erection. I realise that there are many possible physiological complications in the whole area, but the complaints seem surprisingly common. There are also complaints of accuracy, but that also surprises me. I have flawed... |

People only think they have deal breakers. The truth of the matter is, if they like you enough, for whatever reason, they will overlook the deal breakers. If they reject you on the basis of a deal breaker, they aren't sufficiently interested in you and you should move on. However wait until they ex... |

Around here, acting out feminine mannerisms and homosexual suggestions is a popular show of humour among extrovert, heterosexual males. When I think of one of my first good friends, out of a decade and a half of memories I usually remember him in drag. |

Being wrong about aspects of reality is one thing. A bad thing, but only one thing. The other thing, which sets these people apart from people who are merely wrong, is that they would rather have their children suffer the effects of lethal or crippling diseases than autism. That other thing isn't a ... |

"Atheism" is mostly used to denote what self-identifying atheists may call "strong atheism" by people who don't selfidentify as atheists, while separations such as "weak atheism" and "strong atheism" are mostly employed by people who self-identify as atheists. In praxis, the term is ambiguous when t... |
