"It looks like it was a very sad day."

"No, I saw 3 red cars. It was a very good day".

LMAO

I get the humor - and, even if the dude wasn't really autistic, he had the fidgeting/lack of eye contact down pat.

I have APD and HFA (well, they can't conclusively say I have APD because I have HFA, but whatever, it's all semantics - I have both). I am constantly cracking people up at work because I hear things wrong or transpose words. I officially have my own language :) I now just substitute "thingy" for any...

Thank you for your post. Signing up for a Google account is not a requirement to take the survey, but I suppose it is if you wanted to leave comments. I'll have to look at the site during my lunch break at work. Either way, my e-mail is palmer.s.r.l@gmail.com I had to go with Google. It allowed me t...

It's been a year in the making and I'm still not sure if I'm running over anyone's toes in even trying to promote this survey, but I finally have had time to sit down and really ring this survey through the winger and edit, edit, edit (and even then, there's bound to be mistakes!). I now introduce t...

I tell everyone up front. It's either that or have it all end in disastrous and with me on a near mental breakdown from all the stress of "hiding". The curse is that I appear "normal", except for the meltdowns when everyone wondering what's wrong with me. I can only take so much overload (sensory, a...

Over the summer of 2008, I want to help create a wiki, which will essentially be by and for YOU, the autistic community. The initial goal of this wiki is to create a comprehensive directory of U.S. state resources and resources in other countries throughout the world. Do you know of an awesome docto...

I don't really think a union would help. What is needed is more funding and legislation to help adults with a disability, period. I think the federal government are the only ones who actually comply with the ADA law. Other companies mostly just run over it, oblivious to the law (or, even worse, just...

If a Wiki were built specifically for resources (state, county, and locally) for adults on the autism spectrum (including Asperger's Syndrome), what would you name that Wiki?

Open suggestions not on the poll are gladly welcome!

Thanks for your input!

E-harmony rejected me, too. I even faked the questions to make it seem that I was happier than I was at the time!

Jason, My dad also had Schizophrenia. He would go on these two year cycles of taking his meds, going off his meds, using drugs/alcohol, becoming paranoid and homeless, and running away some where and never contacted anybody until he was back on his meds again. I know what you mean about luck not goi...

Sorry for the loss of your dad. I lost mine last year, on the 5th of Feb. He died as a result from a brain aneurysm, which had caused two strokes. We were not that close and it is still hard on me. The thing that keeps me going is that there's a reason for why I'm alive (autism advocacy). Best of lu...

I have always wanted to establish a Wiki around resources for adults on the autistic spectrum. There's plenty of sources out there for children and parents, but so few for adults. Sure, a person could go to sites like WrongPlanet.net, but sometimes the search engine is down and trying to comb throug...

NeoPix: According to that logic, I would have to look for my soul mate in a cemetary. I had a dream when I was 9 that my soul mate was killed during a war. That shook me up for some time until I had a dream when I was 13 where I, as I walking down the ailse, the scene shifted to my funeral. I have m...

I want a boyfriend, but want my space. I don't like being touched too much and much rather prefer my space. However, I want a boyfriend. I just don't want to have to deal with another person (am I selfish or what?). I like the idea of a boyfriend, but it never works out in reality. I like control an...

NewportBeachDude: As to your answer, the paper is already written. The class focuses on Communities of Practice. At the beginning of class, each of us had to choose a community of practice. I choose to "study" Wrongplanet.net. It allows me to study what I absolutely love while praticing my autism aw...
