They're underwhelming now but I remember Shadowgate (NES), Dragon Warrior 1 (NES), and Faxanadu (NES) had some pretty epic scores.

Honestly, I'm disappointed by the lack of other colors besides red and blue. I think that's the best point that map makes. Most people don't realize that you don't have to be one or the other. Think we'd need something like rank-choice voting to fix that. Without that independents, greens, or whate...

Gladstein's more an ally than anything else because he likes what it can offer the third world in terms of being able to jump over their local banks and monetary systems. In his case he was an activist first who then liked what he saw in Bitcoin's potential, not an orange-piller who then became an a...

If I feel like being a bit less of a dick for a moment - 'fractal competition' is a way of saying that the current economy and the way people conduct themselves is such a Hobbesian sh--show that few people have any bandwidth for anything other than themselves. Not a climate for understanding of hist...

Halfway in on part 2, fair amount of discussion on fractal competition and systemic paralysis to change frame or even register history in non-monumental ways based on that state of affairs. Prof Gilbert Morris discussed alternatives to nihilism on that point. Translation? Nah, I have no idea what i...

For me, too much flattery or "love-bombing," in the absence of any focus on shared interests or shared intellectual exploration, has always been a turnoff. Yes, I've never trusted that and it actually creeps me out because it just looks like a ritualistic checklist of 'shoulds'. Even when...
