What fascinating, to me, about people being bilingual, is the difference in how people speak the "second" language when they acquire it before puberty, and after puberty. Big difference! Before puberty, they do not usually speak the "first" language with an "accent"; a...

I prefer to read or watch it it in movie/show form...I have tried writing a couple times but couldn't come up with anything good really. Also I have no idea how to create/develop characters which is pretty important I think. Characters can be difficult. I find what helps is reading the comment sect...

LOL....you're doing better than me. I've only taken four Grad School courses. What are you going for? If I may ask. Are you close to thesis/dissertation level? What is preventing you from doing research? Probably similar to that which makes me procrastinate, too. Too much distraction, too much good...

I don't know if I'm alone in this, but I much prefer to write rather than read fiction. In fact, I really enjoy reading, but usually non-fiction or articles about the world, nature, science, psychology, etc. The last fiction books I read that I actually finished were in the Hunger Games series. And ...

Hello, all I'm just posting because I'm having difficulty functioning and I'm not sure what to do. I haven't been officially diagnosed yet, but my appointment is coming. In the meantime (I would say about 8 months now) I've been doing almost nothing. I'm in this very unique situation where I am fini...

You sound like a fascinating person. That being said, I have trouble empathizing with the plight of the sociopath/psychopath, simply because my Aspie-ness tends to make me gullible and naive with a high sense of morality, and I've had socio people manipulate (or completely talk their way out of bein...

Hi, C2V! My workouts are going great! I hate the gym, so I do workouts in my own home with adjustable dumbbells I bought. I used workout videos from a fitness couple whose company's name is Fitness Blender. Their videos are free on youtube and on their website, fitnessblender.com. They have low impa...

I haven't dated much, but I did date an Aspie male once (dating him was what clued me in to my own Aspie traits). Honestly, and you can call me a hypocrite for this, I didn't like it. He was great at first: super gregarious, childlike, and fun. However, after a while I started to get tired of his ow...

Thanks, everyone! And Campin_Cat: I guess part of me wants to be able to tell them, because then I could say "Look, I'm not a narcissist nor am I selfish, I just have Asperger's, and you should be more understanding and accepting." Maybe it's wishful thinking? I want to be able to prove th...

GGPViper: Yeah, deficiencies were a concern of mine as well, but I supplement with fortified nutritional yeast for the B vitamins I need (which also has a nice savory flavor to add to dishes), and chia seeds for Omega 3's. I do, however, take a calcium supplement with Vitamin D. I find that eating a...

As a result of my research for how to live a healthy lifestyle and reduce the symptoms of some of my comorbidities, I found out about the WFPB diet from ... |

Hi! I'm a 31 year old female, from the (USA). I'm on a waiting list to see a specialist in my area for an Asperger's evaluation. I'm almost positive I'm an Aspie, and 100% positive my biological sister is (though she has never sought diagnosis). I would consider my presentation as childlike: interes...

Well, every Aspie woman is different, but for me I would say that I would feel incredibly guilty using feminine wiles to get my way. So no, I don't use them. I've never even cried to get out of a ticket, but somehow have gotten let off easy anyways. As for flirting, I am of the type who is hyper-sex...

New here. Kind of funny that this will be my first post, but here goes. I was diagnosed with PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder), which is basically PMS on steroids. Symptoms included intense thoughts of doom, feeling like the world was going to end or that I would be utterly alone, right before ...
