i've almost reached 6 years clocked in as a NEET (not in education, employment, or training). how do other autists do it? i now have health problems but would have remained NEET regardless almost certainly. am i just low-functioning? i've never had any direction in life and i am simply dysfunctional...

I feel sad when plants die. They're part of that green fuzziness called LiFE. but why is life so special? sperm are alive, are you in dismay whenever you ejaculate and genocide all those sperm cells? how about cockroaches and fleas, do they hold sentimental value to you as well? this thread is VERY...

In the way you describe it, yes that would make me feel sad. Anything dying from the callousness and carelessness of others is sad and upsetting. why? nobody answered my question. if i carelessly jack off is that a tragedy of epic proportions then? Some things are hard to explain; perhaps it is was...

a pretty good reason to think (at least the majority) of animals aren't conscious comes from anthropic reasoning, which states that if it WAS possible to 'be' anything like a cow, a bat, a chicken etc. then we'd much more likely be one of those many animals instead of humans, which are a minority a...

If other people are conscious, I have no reason to believe animals aren't also conscious. People are just animals. Animals have individual personalities just like people do, so if personality implies consciousness, then that applies to animals. The main reason for denying animal consciousness is fo...

no. it's basically like saying would you rather an NT was born instead of you anyway as we wouldn't truly be 'us' anymore, but just for the sake of myself i'd choose an NT to be born instead of me. What? what don't you get? a huge part of what defines ourselves is our autism, without it i assume ou...

do you think it exists? i don't, at least not for the vast majority of animals. i think they are pure automata a la descartes view, operating on instinct with no self-consciousness, or consciousness of one's consciousness, and no ability to think abstractly and to come up with even the idea of other...
