I think this belongs in the philosophy forum. How wrong someone thinks something is varies from person to person. I remember learning about a tribe who killed their children if they were disabled (if i remember correctly). To us, that's very wrong. But to them, that's right. The concept of right and... |

On https://www.16personalities.com/intp-personality i have always scored INTP. When i took the test just now, i got 98% introverted, 79% intuitive, 97% thinking and 91% prospecting.
Also where is the source(s) for the correlations? I'm interested in reading more. |

Almost no expression of emotion Almost no eye contact Rocking when anxious Fidgeting Rapidly moving my head around when very anxious Hate being touched Dislike loud noises Dislike bright light Obsessions. If something interests me, i'll talk about almost only that with my friends for days or weeks. ... |

i measure significance on how much influence that thing has. And what rational basis do you have for this metric? How do you know what "influence" is? Are you measuring in terms of basic forces? Mass? Quantities of spacetime? What rational basis do you have for applying such measures? I d... |

Why do you say that i do not have a rational basis for measuring what matters? Because when challenged to explain what it is, you have only been able to come up with size as a metric of "mattering." You speak of "the grand scheme of things" as if it is self-evident that big thin... |

Right now this feels like my worst year, so many bad things have happened. Two suicide attempts, for example. I also had a delusion at one point; i thought my family and mental health team were teaming up to kill me. :? But i've now been put on medication that seems to be working, i haven't felt sui... |

I seem to have no empathy. Well, i understand what people feel, but i don't feel or care about what they feel, unless it affects me in some way. For example, if my parents died, i would only be concerned about where i'm now going to live and school. I would experience no sadness. I do like having fr... |

After a few hours of messing around with maths, it appears that the chance of going extinct doesn't increase as the total amount of humans born so far approaches N, and that the higher the total amount of humans born so far gets, the higher the chance of extinction before we reach N. This makes sens... |

I shall put Techstepgenr8tion's point into a mathematical form. We shall go with 50% instead of 95%. n₁ = 60 billion = total amount of humans born so far, N = 2n₁ = the number of total humans to be born that we have a 50% chance of going extinct before we reach. People will continue to be born, whic... |

I agree that if something's wrong and been refuted, wikipedia will usuallu make it clear. Why doesn't the argument work for very early people in human history? Evidence please. "yes you can pick a time in the future, just not one that's too far into the future." "when dealing with th... |

Please note that i'm not entirely sure i understood it correctly. "If Leslie's figure is used, then 60 billion humans have been born so far, so it can be estimated that there is a 95% chance that the total number of humans N will be less than 20 × 60 billion = 1.2 trillion." Let's use the... |
