I find that when the time comes around to do social things, I simply don't have the energy, and stay in.

Friendless right now and really sad. I'd say my dream is to have a group of friends who love me. I would be okay with an awful career and no marriage or family if I just had a chill group of friends. However, people avoid me and I've been alone my whole life. :( It's getting to the point where I env...

Yes. I'm eighteen right now and doctors are always surprised to learn that I'm not "sexually active". It makes me wonder what the other girls my age are all getting up to...

I feel like this. Now that I'm in college I can play "chirpy, helpful girl", but ultimately I slip up and my "social awkwardness" seeps through, leading to people pushing me away. I have a hard time connecting, so I do things that I think might make people think I don't like them...

Maybe ask this therapist to go somewhere crowded with you? Autistic people can present very differently in a one-to-one setting in a nice, quiet room. Take him to an amusement park with you before you accept him undiagnosing you  This. My counselor said she "didn't see Autistic traits...

While accepting my Autism, I always thought of myself as unimpaired nonverbally. It never occurred to me that I might have issues with body language, and I was naturally expressive. But lately, I've begun questioning this. I have problems with eye contact, and I've come into a lot of situations wher...

When I was a kid, I'd cycle months between Naruto and Warriors as my special interest. It was to the point where I could not partake in life without attaching Naruto/Warriors to it. I had to pretend they were somehow involved in all my TV shows, videogames, even meals. In high school, I was obsessed...

I kind of like him as something more, but to be honest, I'm so wanting for friends that I might just want to be friends with him. I feel like people are often curious about me, why did you smile, why are you so blunt, why aren't you saying hi, etc, and instead of just asking, so I can tell them I'm ...

I often feel this way as well. In my experience, it's a cycle of pushing people away because I'm used to them seeing who I am and backing off anyways, giving them the impression that I'm aloof/don't like them, so thus the relationship deteriorates and I'm left thinking I'm inherently unlikable, whic...

I'm in college. I'm having trouble making friends, but I've been texting with this boy. I think he knows something's weird about me. I've: 1.) Gone down to hang out with his friends and sat on a chair really far away from them until he invited me to sit closer. 2.) Said hi to him and his friends but...

I was at a grad party for this kid I know. It was actually a grad party for him, his college graduate sister, and two cousins. A lot of people were there. There was loud music and at first I was okay. I'm getting a lot better at socialization and I thought I did okay talking to his mom and sister's ...

I play D&D with some guys. They're cool and all, but one of them has on more than one occasion used the term "autistic" as an insult. First time I was flummoxed and didn't know what to say. Second time I glared at him and he noticed but I don't know what he thought. I used to present r...

I am dxed with Asperger's, ADD, and bipolar. As a kid, I was irritable, unfocused, disorganized, had both OCD and ASD style routines, thought I was a magical being until maybe 5th grade, (I don't know how serious I was about it, to what extent it was imagination), had bad social skills and was bulli...

I mean, are my impairments Autistic-level or just normal introvertedness?

Though I suppose the presence of sensory issues, stims, fascination with parts of objects, etc, make me pretty AS too.

Need to know if I still qualify for ASD. In terms of oversharing, non-reciprocal talk, socially inappropriate behavior, and social anxiety, I am affected in a way others take note of at least twice a week. That being said, I rarely speak to anyone but family, teachers, and one close friend. Any time...
