I don't think it's a cause and effect in that order. Yes, some people who wear unfashionable clothes get bullied, but I think the bullying happens for another reason and the clothes may make an easy target. A "cool" person can wear unfashionable clothes and be considered eccentric or star...

I feel that if I wasn't taught from a young age to try to not always be myself and sometimes it is important to conform to social norms, I might have ended up like a real life version of Cosmo Kramer. Instead, I know that I am different than mostly everyone else, but am often too afraid to express ...

the more I venture a bit more out of my comfort level That's the way bro. Make discomfort your comfort zone, 1% better every day, but remember not to beat yourself up What I'm trying to relay to the folks who feel "nothing changes" - you are completely right; nothing changes if NOTHING CH...

I went from lacking social skills to being relatively competent and notice things that people do that I used to do because I didn't know any better at the time. Not that there is anything really wrong with 'being weird'(we all have our quirks that make life interesting) but you can tell that the per...

I would rip the fibres out of my bath towel with my teeth and chew on them when I was younger. Nowadays, the pen lid gets it. I've been telling people I'm autistic whenever I do weird things, kinda as a cute running joke(no offense meant tho) but this whole thread was way too specific. I'm 100% sur...

is there a keisaku involved?? haha. kidding. kind of. LOL I'm making an effort to meditate regularly I found that quite funny. If meditation is an effort wouldn't it cancel out the calm? :P Me, sitting on a soft cushion next to a water fall: http://cdn.playbuzz.com/cdn/9b072c76-b900-42ff-8d43-ca73c...

Any of you guys tried meditation? I also find when I'm stressed I pacify myself by stressing my body more to kinda disengage but I don't think it's healthy. I'm making an effort to meditate regularly and avoid getting to that point in the first place

I am an intense person is the first thing that makes me "weird". I am also deeply principled, and because of the necessary hypocrisies of living life I struggle an immense amount with the degree of shame I feel for having to violate my principles. ita interesting you say this. I've been t...

Hey there! One thing I would recommend is reading books about body language. Also read "How to win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie. For us, the whole social thing is a much more conscious endeavour. When you interact with people, note when things go right, and celebrate to ...

But I'm pretty sure everyone changes their interests over time 11. Yeah probably a good case for it. I...

If you want my tips on marketing, they are very simple. Make the best product, without hurting your employees or their environment, and chase all the money boys out of Google, so that I can find You. OTOH, if I see an ad, I won't trust you. Could you elaborate on not trusting ads? I haven't watched...

Your "problem" might be that your mind cannot process things which do not interest you. You can only focus upon what does interest you. I sort of have the same problem--but, over the years, I've learned to compensate and to "force myself" to think and study about things which do...

From the answers here, I think I'm either a 1 or 2. I am pretty high functioning but have moments where it's clear I missed something important in 'how to live life' class when I was 12 lol how the hell would i know? autism is different for everyone except for a few core characteristics. i can not f...

interpret cues to end conversations allot I met a dude on the train once and was super interested in what he did(busker) and asked him about how he handles people on the street. He seemed on the ball right up until I had to get off at my station, I stood up and started moving towards the door, prov...

I've been doing market research and trying to better understand people with autism. From people I've spoken to so far, Autism is experienced differently by most people and it's super hard to draw generalizations. Do those of you with autism view yourself as a point on a spectrum compared to NT's? or...

It is definitely a thing that other people sometimes can't tell when an autistic person is happy or enjoying something. 1) I've been asked why aren't I smiling ... when in fact, I thought I was smiling. 2) I've been in a wonderful mood, said something out loud to express it, and to my surprise, had...
