I'm noticing a lot of speculation about poor treatment of autistic people in Australia lately. I didn't notice it growing up, though to be fair there were very few diagnosed students I knew of. Prof. Tony Attwood lives and practices in the third most populous Australian city so we definitely have so...

You left off the last paragraph of the article (or perhaps it was added after you read the article) that mentions the author is affiliated with a firm that sells stem cell therapies. The bloke who published the anti MRR vaccine garbage research was involved with a firm that was going to be selling s...

There are other benefits too: - Manual transmission cars are usually cheaper - You can push start a manual but not an automatic - You have more control and better understand the vehicle with a manual transmission - For me at least, the physical process of changing gears can prevent boredom and keep ...

I assumed it was visible when others look at my profile, but now I realise I can't see that option in anyone else's profile. What is the point of this option if nobody can see what you've chosen? Or am I missing something and it is viewable?

If the active ones are off-putting maybe you would do better with a high-quality set of passive noise-cancelling headphones. I like the Sennheiser circumaural (close over the entire ear) ones. The cost is the limiting factor.

Slightly off-topic but I feel it's necessary to cover this point: "NT" is no more "offensive" than "Goyem", or "Gentile". It was a term invented by aspie individuals in the Nineties to mean folks not on the autism spectrum (like Jews call nonJews Goyem, or Gen...

I assume part of the reason for not identifying the principal or school is that people would then be able to figure out who the victim is. Perhaps also that the principal could then be subject to vigilante justice. Growing up, I went to two different schools in New South Wales, don't remember encoun...

If by programming you mean computer programming, it could be that it's not your fortè, or it could be that you just need more time before it 'clicks' for you. My experience is that roughly one in ten educators are competent in that field, and for some people it just takes a lot of time and hard work...

This wikipedia article is pretty good: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abstraction_(software_engineering) It's basically a way of breaking a task into smaller more manageable pieces. But more than that it's about finding the right way to think about a problem. I like the first paragraph of the Wikiped...

I think you can do it if you're determined enough. I had a lot of trouble with mathematics until I learnt how to program. You have to master abstraction to become a good programmer and that helps significantly with learning certain parts of mathematics. Just keep at it and don't give up. There are a...

Both places I mentioned do four sessions (i.e. $240 per session at Hearts and Minds) but they said they may be able to do several sessions on one or two days if tr... |
