I grew up in a working-class family. In every relationship I've had, the other person has come from a more privileged background.

While I think a few women may be excessively defensive, I can say that EVERY woman I've known well enough to have such a discussion with has been the target of numerous unwanted advances, whether catcalling, not taking no for an answer, flashing, or outright assault. Not to cast doubt on cyberdad's ...

Oof. I'm so sorry to hear about your brother's trouble. It's a really rough spot to be in. I've been in similar situations and it always sucks. My solution has always been to back off, like Bee suggested. If he wants to stay friends with the guy then he should pick times/locations where the girlfri...

I love spending time with my partner, but I also need to have plenty of time alone. I'm very fortunate that she's the same way. This was a topic of conversation when we discussed moving in together in a year or two; we both need a big enough place to have time and space to ourselves

My sons can choose to be coupled or single or something in between. It's their life, not mine. Yes but do you want them to be single?. I am sure you would want for them to be in a relationship like you. No, not if it doesn't suit them. If being autistic has taught me anything, it's that different p...

Guys are the ones who have do the chasing,

Not necessarily. I'm no good at chasing and don't even try. Every relationship I've had has started with me as the quarry.

I've been in a very happy relationship for over 5 years. In fact, it's by far the best relationship I've ever had. I consider that a success story.

I don't believe that and I dont know anyone who does.

People who believe that are probably projecting their own needs onto others.

I used to know/work with a (now) very famous actor who starred in a (recently) very successful TV series, and I strongly suspect that at least some aspects of his character were based on me. I have a decent level of proficiency at cooking Chinese and Mexican food. Sharon Stone once flirted with me. ...

First day of Kindergarten when my teacher picked me up by my ponytail and spanked me for playing with a boys' toy instead of playing House with the girls. That's when I realized I didn't fit in with other girls, and even the adults thought I was bad. Prior to that I knew I felt different, but not n...

So in the industrial revolution, is was not unheard of for lots of men to remain lifelong bachelors, never have any relationships? In the Victorian era the spread of prostitution throughout the industrialised world was so widespread that it was not really necessary to settle down to find female com...

Usually, no. I like my time alone. I can go months without seeing specific friends, and that's fine with me. My partner is the same. But we both want to spend a lot of time with each other. So we're quite compatible in this way.

I'm very far from a normie, which is why I'm posting here. I said my cousin is a normie. I know that. I, unlike your cousin, am not a normie. I'm autistic/ADHD. And I (again, not a normie), met someone and established a great relationship at the age of 55. The point of my reply was that it's not on...

Absolutely untrue. I'm far from rich, but ive had a number of relationships, plus more casual encounters, well past the age of 30. My wonderful partner and i just celebrated 5 years together. We met when I was 55. Not common but sometimes you see it with normies. I have a cousin who is in his late ...
