I don't think you should concern yourself too much over the matter. All people are wired differently in the brain and are unique. There is a fine line between mildly on the Autism Spectrum and just "shy and introverted and quirky NT", which side of that fence you are on isn't what's impor...

It's possible the psychologist made a mistake. They aren't infallible. Unlike cancer or diabetes, there is no physical test. AS is diagnosed based on a collection of symptoms and the psychologist's own interpretation thereof. Also if you make the appointment with the intention to get that diagnosis...

Hi! In many - or most ways, this sounds like me. I got my dx at 60 - now five years ago and I also felt an intense relief. At last, I had a valid explanation for my life. Please don´t have an issue about being relieved to have been diagnosed! Of course, you can say, what others have been saying abo...

I posted this to the woman’s board, but it didn’t seem like people get on there as much as this forum, so I thought I’d just repost it here. I just was wondering if I could get some advice. I’m about to be 23, I was diagnosed with Aspergers about a year ago. When I was growing up, I had issues with ...

I do a thing with my eyes where I have to keep looking around the room and like bounce my vision around, off corners of objects. It's hard to explain, but it's like I am shooting out nervous energy out of my brain and bouncing it around the room, trying to keep it away. I blink once I get to a corne...

Something that always confuses me is if lack of theory of mind is such a defining trait of ASD, how does it relate to the idea of over developed local synaptic connections and under developed long range ones? I was thinking that as I read this thread, maybe this answers it? I think maybe, I find it...

The only thing that I can think of, that might be TOM issues is, I project my own feelings, on others. If I feel interested in someone, I will think they're interested in me (even if we have hardly even looked at each other) or I will assume that they are thinking a thought, when I have no reason t...

I've been confused about the theory of mind stuff. I'm not sure if I'm experiencing it, or not. I'm diagnosed with Aspergers, but I don't think I have the TOM, problem. The only thing that I can think of, that might be TOM issues is, I project my own feelings, on others. If I feel interested in some...
