Obviously my family knows about the diagnosis. Other than that, I'm fairly selective about the people to whom I disclose it.

Same here. I'm late-diagnosed at 40 - last summer - so I'm still new to identifying as an Aspie/Autistic person. I do want to be more open about it...

I've found that discussion forums offer a much more in-deptch discussion than things like facebook groups, where the discussion is fragmented and not very lengthy. I agree. Also, it's hard to find a topic or thread in a Facebook group, if you come back a few days later. And maybe the thread you wer...

Hi Morten,

I was late diagnosed too (last year, aged 40). I would be interested in something like that too.

By the way, I live in Odense too. :D

I smoked (cigarettes) daily for 9-10 years and then quit when I was around 25. I then began smoking again about 5 years later but quickly quit again. Had a few shorter periods of smoking after that. Then I quit completely for 6 years. I've been smoking again for 2-3 due to stress (various issues) bu...

Unfortunately, I made the mistake of pursuing languages/linguistics in college simply because I liked them so much, not having any career plans in mind. Never actually used my degree, cannot see much use for what I learned. Still an interest, but a waste of money -- could have just kept learning th...

Love languages. Can't do math to save my life. :D Always been fascinated by languages and desperately want to learn another aside from my one but find it so hard. The only language I have tried is french and have failed a number of times (went to college evening class, did a CD thing, did a W...

Yep....and don't forget how the Cantonese "dialect" of Chinese is vastly different from the "Mandarin" dialect. Old English adopted many Scandinavian usages, and the English kingdom made use of many Scandinavian names for places. I find Old English (and even, to some extent, Mid...

I sort of suck at (especially) speaking other languages. I am into linguistics, however. I have heard it said that Danish, Norwegian, and Swedish are mutually intelligible, almost like they are dialects of each other. That Danish, Norwegian, and Swedish are only separate languages for political rea...

I got my drivers' license when I was 33 years old (I'm 40 now).

It's quite expensive getting a license in Denmark and I couldn't afford it + a car (also very expensive here) until that age.

Hi everyone, A lot of Aspies seem to be strong in mathematics (at least according to the interwebs and various books I've read). I was never exactly bad at math, but I never had it as a special interest. For me languages are much more interesting. I'm only fluent in Danish and English, but semi-flue...
