Of those 4.3 million people who left their jobs in August, I wonder how many of them found jobs outside their former industries, switched jobs with another person within the same industries, or merely quit their jobs and went home. Unfortunately the data does not say that and going home can mean qu...

What was the racist incident? Displaying the Confederate flag or suspending the black protesters? The issue is consistent treatment from the authorities. The white students are treated differently from the African American or Latino students and are not allowed the same rights. That is what makes t...

20 pages and counting over a nonevent. Because there is more to the discussion than the non-event. While the general strike did not happen, these things are happening: 1) Smaller Strikes at target companies such as John Deere and Kellogg (and many local strikes such as nurses at Buffalo Mercy Hospi...

Anything that has to use the word "Truth" in its name is probably posting what its owner thinks is truth. Just like any country with the word "Democratic" in its official name probably is not Democratic.

I don't think it is much different today than it was in the 1930s. Wages have not kept up with prices and certainly not kept up with top level compensation and the income of those with investments. I person who is about to lose their house anyways whether they work or not and has no benefits have no...

This general strike in an of itself will be a non-event. However, I still see workers succeeding in small groups with specific goals. We are already seeing the following: 1) More people quitting their jobs for better jobs (individual persons) 2) More unions performing specific strikes on specific co...

OK, so you raise the corporate taxes and then what? Corporations are going to adjust their prices higher to makeup for the tax loss, so who really gets to pay for it? We will go into a higher and higher inflation era overall. That inflation issue eventually causes job losses, those same jobs that y...

If everybody didn't work, and received benefits from the "State" instead, the "State" would go bankrupt. And we all would go bankrupt. Not only that....but we would have lousy roads, lousy health care, lousy everything. We need people to work to keep our civilization alive. You ...

Yeah, saying something like "We know where you live" in a pro 2nd amendment rights state might not be the best idea and going to that place would be total idiocy. As for those who say they want a choice, fine, have your choice. Businesses also have the choice to decide whether to let you i...

With American politics the way they are right now, the Democrats are not going to touch welfare reform, for the same reason they really are not doing anything with law enforcement and criminal reforms that are desperately needed. The GOP is looking for any avenue to get their base going and if Biden...

Actually, the no pets rule can possibly overridden in the case of service dogs for persons with actual disabilities. That is why there is a question on whether a landlord can restrict units to those who are vaccinated. What about those who have a legitimate medical reason to not get the vaccine? Sho...

It will be interesting to see if the vaccination requirement for housing does past muster under the law, especially for those who cannot get vaccinated for medical reasons or claim the religious exemption. As for tenants dying, once a tenant dies, it is up to the estate to clean out the deceased stu...

What gets me is that last year when the states and federal governments were setting up mandates, these were the same people who said it should be up to the local governments. Apparently that only applies if the local governments are going to do what you want them to do.

A good example is Jim Sinclair (yes, that Jim Sinclair). In their case, they had exploratory surgery done (with their permission) and found that they do not have parts of either gender on the inside. The only issue I have is getting the They/Them/Their pronouns correct (which is my problem) because ...

I doubt the renewed moratorium will even last until October 3rd unless Congress acts (which is a big if IMHO). More likely, SCOTUS will ax the moratorium as they threatened to do in June. Biden and the CDC is hoping to buy some time while the cases wind through the courts (and may lean on the DOJ to...
