Well, when I lived in Hong Kong, I noticed that middle-aged women tended to eat quite a lot of soy-beancurd (tofu), and would steep ginseng to drink like tea. I believe the phytoestrogens in the soy act to dampen any oestrogen surges (that cause hot flushes), as they block oestrogen receptors. Ginse...

You'd probably be best speaking to an expert like a child psychologist, I think. These are just my thoughts but I could be way out. To me it sounds like a trauma response of some kind. Is he having panic attacks or meltdowns? But regardless, any traumatic incident can reset the fear response to be m...

I like the term autist. It's more concise than "autistic person" and more acceptable than "sufferer of autism". Plus grammatically it seems like "autistic" should be an adjective, whereas "autist" would fit as the equivalent noun. Hence, if my behaviour and wa...

In terms of career choice, just go with whatever interests you. The test is only telling you: (a) You're going to need work-arounds for the slow processing speed, and (b) You're smart enough to develop them What I mean by workarounds are things like: - having the confidence to ask for time to respon...

Yes, it seems to be common to hit burnout around the 2-3 year mark. I've managed to struggle through that period twice and found if you can get to about 5 or 6 years things tend to ease up. By then one is part of the furniture and they rely on you too much to let you go easily, so you're more likely...

The question is a bit confusing...
I'm thinking you want a study of music lyrics for matching words to emotions on a basic level,
Or maybe something like Shakespeare plays for getting into the language of emotion in more depth?

That seems likely.
Generally speaking, autists have poor job prospects.
Not all, but many, will be limited in their ability to earn a decent income long-term.

Yes, I'd even noticed here on WP, that it is often the asperger-type autists who can point to many others in their families with traits or high functioning autism. Whereas some of those diagnosed with classic or moderate level autism (thoiugh not necessarily with ID) are the only one in their family...

Yeah, maths. When I was a kid I taught myself multiplication in my head by multiplying the larger number first then the smaller. So I got really confused at school when we had to write it down and do it the other way around. Your dots sound interesting. And no need to apologise, MG, we all love your...

Definitely, optimal diet helps achieve optimal outcome. Not every diet is right for everyone, though. Some general rules would be to avoid highly processsed foods and excess sugar, which are bad for everyone. Eat plenty of vegetables (cruciferous veggies such as broccoli and cabbage are supposed to ...

Different scientists have different opinions, like anything else. There is also political pressure from Neurodiversity advocates to claim autism is a natural difference & autistic people being born has remained constant, so to say autism cases have gone up kind of admits that autism is an unnat...

[ The genetic scientist in the video confirms autism rates have definitely gone up that isn’t just better diagnosis Yeah, but unfortunately from the video alone there's no way to check her data source, we'd just be taking her word for it. And I think she said she's not exactly a genetic scientist. ...
