Haven't used shampoo for years. The odd bits of non-dread hair that I have (they escaped!!) are much less greasy than my hair ever used to be when I used shampoo. Rosemary tea is really good for itchy scalps. I wouldn't use soap if I was better at remembering to shower more often than I do and didn'...

Hate to say it, but I'm afraid you don't have a choice. Well actually you do, but it's a sh***y one. Either you accept yourself for who you are (don't worry, plenty of NTs struggle with this concept too-it's why advertising works.), or you spend the rest of your life hating yourself and wishing you ...

My response to them would be along the lines of 'I don't get to choose my neurological make-up, but you get choose whether to be an a**hole.' And then ask them if they make fun of other types of disability. And what that says about them as people.

I'd find it difficult. Although maybe it'd be easier than, for example, trying to write an email to someone who I've not replied to for months because I couldn't think of anything to say-that involves a.) thinking of something to say, and b.) thinking of a justification for why I haven't written bac...

When I was told I had C-PTSD and started researching it, I understood why certain teachers in my primary school targeted me. So many of the symptoms of PTSD in children-difficulty regulating emotions, being prone to violent outbursts, avoidance of social situations and isolating themselves, being re...

There is also a trend within society to regard ALL people with disabilities as asexual. That's why disabled toilets are always non-gendered.

Everything that kitesandtrainsandcats has posted. I got rid of mine early 2016 after it demanded that I send them a picture of a valid photo ID to prove that the name I was using was mine. I'd heard they were doing it to other people-lots of my friends had to change their names from outlandish ones ...

I struggled with it for a while because the idea of it being plural is just so damned ingrained, but I use it in the absence of anything else. I really look forward to the day when there are no gendered pronouns and a people are just people. And while we're at it, isn't it time that 'other/prefer no...

Been there. I've had counsellors give up on me and tell me that they can't help me, I'm incurable. I avoided getting help for years afterwards-until it got to the point where I had to in order to survive. Ended up with a good one finally. I have my own strategy that I have devised. I call it my thre...

I had a full on meltdown on the bus a couple of months ago. It was crowded and noisy and the schoolchild behind me was kicking my seat. I was anxious because I had an exam that morning. My noise cancelling headphones had just broken that morning. I bent over to tie my shoelace; my glasses fell off a...
