I don’t bang my head violently or anything, if I’m sitting against a wall I like to sort of tap it against the wall because it’s comforting, the same as tapping my fingers against a table or something. When I have a meltdown though I do punch walls, just because I feel like I need to release that en... |

The opposite kind of happened to me, I went to counselling for my gender issues, I’m a female to male trans guy. While I was there my counsellor suspected I had ASD and then I did the test and got diagnosed. It’s sh***y though because for a while my parents thought that because I have autism I can’t... |

I feel like a damn bug with no peripheral vision. I have a hard time backing out of a parking spot because of the glass frames. I also have a hard time walking down stairs. The problem is that I have a astigmatism and can see normally (or what I call normally - there's a little fuzziness) most of t... |

I don’t mind wearing glasses, I use to feel a bit self conscious when I first got them at 11 so I never wore them. Now I really need them, I feel like the frames I have now compliment my style. The only problem I have is that if I wear them for too long I get little acne bumps on my nose or cheeks w... |

My younger cousin on my mum’s side has full blown autism for sure, he’s in the middle of being diagnosed for it. I see symptoms in other people in my mother’s family, her dad a bit and her brother definitely. Her mother’s family also has a long history of bipolar. My brother is also Dyslexic but I’m... |

Hey all! I was wondering if any other teens here had any weird issues with food still, I’ve seen a lot of people say that they grow out of their food issues but for me it just gets worse with time. For me I eat mostly fish, chicken, and rice. I’ve been forcing myself to eat fish because of the nutri... |

Aah I love reading fanfiction! As a gay guy though there aren’t that many male reader fics unfortunately. Making up fanfiction and inserting ocs is really fun too though! |

I think it really depends on how you feel about it to be honest, it’s hard to put yourself out there but there are a lot of groups and stuff for out of school socializing. I’ve been doing online school for the past year just to finish off my GCSEs. I have two friends that I still keep in contact wit... |

I think the key is just remembering that we’re normal people tbh, dating the same sex doesn’t make you a scary alien or anything y’know? My dad learnt this from my brother and I (we’re both gay) as he comes from Asia, he had a lot of misconceptions about gay people. Also, just be natural and relaxed... |

Just a quick thread update: Sometimes I really think I was sexually abused as a kid , which would explain why I'm so avoidant of sex. I also read somewhere that sexual abuse was more common in autistic children, mainly due to their gullibility and defenselessness. If I was I wouldn't be able to rem... |

So glad I found this thread, I always just thought I was weird for having childish interests tbh. As a teenager it's kinda awkward so no one knows about it but I give myself time to watch cartoons and play Pokémon when I'm on my own. Just having that time really helps me personally with stress. I al... |

Same here, it's so disturbing. I hate when people with loud voices obnoxiously ask "Why are you so quiet??" When really they're just so used to their own voice being so loud. |

Hey all, I was wondering if anyone knew about a connection between Asperger's and stammering? I was diagnosed this year (I'm 16) so I'm still not familiar with some of the things I do being connected to Asperger's. As a child I was very articulate and learned to speak fluently really early. However,... |
