I can definitely relate to a lot of what you said... how most things come easy to you, but don't really matter to you... how you can present yourself well, but feel like it's just an act... how it's exhausting to be around people, and people in nature kill your sense of calm... and much more. I seco...

Happiness is over-rated. Usefulness, progress, satisfaction with accomplishments... those are much more important to me. Important caveat, I have alexithymia, so I could be totally wrong and happiness could be EVERYTHING! I doubt it, though.

I think "autistic person" makes more sense, from a purely conversational standpoint. We don't say "a person with left-handedness," we say "a left-handed person." We don't say "a person with extroversion," we say "an extroverted person." We don't say ...

My degree is in Business Administration and I have multiple credentials from my military career in management and operations. I've been in management and executive positions (which almost put me over the edge, and ultimately led me to my diagnosis), but my real core skill set is in Systems and Infor...

I wouldn't say terrified, but I definitely hate talking on the phone and I generally dread emails. I have a visceral reaction every time my phone rings, buzzes, or beeps at me. Don't get me wrong, I love my phone for all of the access to information and ability to organize my life on one little devi...

I "feel" like mine are getting worse with age, but I think a more logical explanation is that my general stress level has steadily increased over time, with more responsibilities, so that I have less "in the tank" to cope with, and behaviors that would have helped me deal with it...

I just got a "fidgi pen" a few days ago, and I'm already hooked. So far, it seems to be helping reduce my compulsive hand wringing. Looks pretty cool and writes well, too.

I spent over 10 years in the Army, as a forward observer (13F E-6) and later became a Warrant Officer (153A rotary wing aviator), then spent another 3 years as a DoD contractor at the Army SERE School. I was not diagnosed until after I was out. However, it was the perfect environment for me. Tons of...
