‘“Oh, Cathy! Oh, my life! how can I bear it?” was the first sentence he uttered, in a tone that did not seek to disguise his despair.’ (Vol. II, C. 1)

No analysis...just tears. I. Am. In. Tears.

That's so beautiful, Sianann! Thanks for posting and for your thoughts on Lockwood. I agree! His name says it all: barring nature. I analyse names in books. Catherine = cat. I could go on with every character. I just want to say while I’m here that I’m in awe of your knowledge and passion for Wuthe...

Hmmm, regardless of multiple readings, I am always surprised at the level of domestic-situated violence. I find it interesting that Linton appears appalled by the idea of aggression (even Cathy’s temper in chapter 8 upsets him) but he has no qualms about organizing two of his employees to attack Hea...

The earliest grave dates back to 1750. I thought it would be magical and atmospheric and happily it was indeed. It...

That's ironic because I've asked for no notifications but I get them regardless! I'm lolling around reading intros and essays. Kortie will be back tomorrow / Tuesday but we'll have to see if he's up for it right away. Regardless I'm pretty much good to go whenever you'd like. I'm a little busy tomo...

Sianann, what's a good timeline for you? We can't start quite yet because of Kraftiekortie. Perhaps I'll read a few forwards and post some questions to frame the Introduction of the book. I was going to post the family tree but I don't know if that gives away too much plot (do you agree, sianann?) ...

I was off-radar for a while and hoped the reading of Wuthering Heights hadn’t yet started...now happily looking forward to it!

Has anyone heard from redxk or alirat lately? One month and counting... Bring your thunder and lightning! Bring your teacups and troubles!...

I love my son and myself and I have lots of time for us both! There’s a three-hour limit for everyone that I like very much. Yes, I guess I have a sliding scale of tolerance before I get drained/resentful.

Art has enriched my life in a way I never thought possible. However, financially I am mostly hovering slightly above or below the poverty line. It doesn’t sound like you’re financially motivated and that’s a realistic place to start from...this doesn’t mean you won’t ever make money. Funding from ar...

Ah, okay. I was just tired...there’s a lot going on in my life...plus I am worried about a friend of mine so I am distracted...even more so this morning. I'm really sorry to hear that. What are you, an hour away from Dublin by car? I’m a Dubliner but I moved to County Westmeath (Midlands) at the en...

Explain? I've been to the NI Tayto factory at Tandragee. What I meant was that I find that you've gone quiet. Is there a reason for this? I was enjoying the debate and discussion. Whereabouts are you from in Ireland? Obviously if you live in a village I wouldn't want the name - I just wonder whethe...
