My backstory: I was born with a short fuse. No trauma made me like that, I was just born with a low frustration threshold. You probably have this picture in mind of someone who was incapable of being calm, but I was calm most of the time, I just didn't know any way to express my anger other than pub...

Your only 21 and you know that you want to change, that's the start. Don't judge yourself too harshly, you're not going to change overnight so when you let yourself down, don't punish yourself for it. pick yourself up again and keep going. You'll get there. Edit: To answer your question, no, I woul...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yvFEjM46xZE This song reminds me of a very specific problem of mine about how I changed so many things about myself to fit in. And these passages remind me of my dilemma about how that may actually have been necessary. "I had to make them changes, I hope you und...

There has got to be a balance, right? There was a time when I would think everyone who would ever say anything bad about me was a sadist or a jealous hater. I held on to all those turn-of-the-decade cheesy self-esteem messages found in pop songs and "It Gets Better" PSA's, and the combinat...

Has anyone else had this problem? As I said before, I only learned how to control my anger at an age when my personality was already halfway set so I think of my anger as part of my individuality. But of course social harmony dictates that I need to control it. Any good idea for a balance?

BTW, who else has felt torn between expressing their anger as part of their individuality and the fact that most manifestations of anger are not healthy? I only learned how to stop my anger at an age when my personality was halfway set, so I'm like this. Also, another problem would be that for a lo...

His tendency to approach every female he finds attractive is potentially getting him into trouble, and he accidentally has w...

God, if you are gonna make someone feel normal as a kid, without actually making them normal, you're probably better off murdering them before they get too old and realize otherwise. https://78.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lrozzckntW1r0ojhto1_400.gif I'm reminded of a Quora question I made when I was in...

My trauma tends to manifest in the strangest way ever: I don't even worry about being bullied again, but I do feel a vague sense of being afraid of feeling uncomfortable.

OK, fine, since this only looks like a random link and therefore doesn't catch attention, I'll stop beating 'round the bush: do you think that "try to understand women and befriend them" a lazy shortcut that creates frustrated "nice guys", or is it good advice? I ain't even invol...
