but they also wonder why would you want a diagnosis if there isn’t any treatment/cure?. Plenty of autistics feel this way also and that is their right. Speaking of rude others telling you that you should not feel that way is rude. Sorry if I’m misunderstanding but are you saying I was being rude he...

I was discouraged mainly by people thinking I was not autistic but they also wonder why would you want a diagnosis if there isn’t any treatment/cure? I never understood this as before my diagnosis I was constantly confused by why my brain worked the way it did and felt shame for the difficulties I h...

Sorry you are experiencing this. Unfortunately poor mental health can cause a lot of pain and physical symptoms.

:( cats are very misunderstood sensitive creatures. I feel both species have their merits.

I don’t think people saying that is literal but I see why it is said. Dogs have been domesticated for a lot longer and are able o give clear facial expressions and communicate in ways that are easier to understand. Meanwhile cats can make very few expressions, lots of their body language is not obvi...

I used to also not feel like I was looking at myself in the mirror, it felt like looking at someone else so I’d avoid looking. I still feel a slight disconnect but nothing like before thank goodness. Yes, I had that experience when I was going through the worst time of my life. It's really strange....

Like others have said, try to find other ‘weird’ people. As for starting a friendship it is hard but I try to speak to the other person and sort of follow their lead when it comes to the stages of a friendship. I also try to keep clear communication when I can although I won’t lie it’s scary but it ...

I haven’t dealt with it for awhile due to taking antidepressants. However I remember when I did experience it feeling like I was moving through a sort of fog and watching everything as if it was a TV show. I used to also not feel like I was looking at myself in the mirror, it felt like looking at so...

I'm someone who reflects on my life a lot and struggles watching people hit different steps that signify becoming more adult ahead of me. I try to remind myself that in some areas I was told that I will develop a bit slower. Currently watching my friends be in relationships and while I currently hav...

Thank you guys. I feel a bit calmer now. I was really panicked because my city was literally on fire because of the heat which is unheard of in the UK I'm pretty sure. I'm feeling better now. I don't really know if I ever am at risk due to these feelings since the most I've done really is stop carin...

This recent weather is freaking me out and I truly believe that our leaders are too stupid to do anything to stop things from getting too bad. I have no hope and I just don't want to live anymore but at the same time I can't end my life. I've watched too many things about the trauma you leave behind...

Today wasn't a great one for me. I saw an email from my boss who was angry that no one had responded to an email and called it "unacceptable". Despite this not applying to me as IT made a mistake and so I couldn't have seen the email, I burst into tears which my boss saw which was embarras...

I think it's definitely worth waiting longer. Life can change drastically for the better. I have a relative who was a teen mum and got kicked out of her home and now as an adult she is running a successful business and has a lovely family. Are you on medication for your mental illness? That can make...
