What do you guys do when you feel like there is no getting better and no cure? I’ve been diagnosed with ASD, depression and anxiety. Although my psychiatrist may suspect bipolar and has me on mood stabilizers now. I’ve also started seeing a psychologist but feel like it’s all a waste of time. Psychi...

Hi all, I'm a bit confused as to whether I would fit the criteria for bipolar or any kind of hypomania! I am almost diagnosed with Asperger's, but I get major mood swings and have done throughout my life. When I was about13-16, I would have 1 month of lethargy and depression (which I didn't know wa...

For right now I am diagnosed with depression, although she said she wouldn't rule out the possibility of bipolar 2/hypomania, but she didnt have enough evidence to diagnosis me with bipolar right now (its bee...

I just joined a local high functioning adult autism meetup group which I was really excited about but I see they don’t have any events. I was thinking about offering up some suggestions. What do you think I should suggest? Game/cards? Food?

Most autism specific therapy is only provided to children, there is usually piss all programs, resources or help for adults with issues specific to autism. You can find help for depression/anxiety usually pretty easily though. With regards to meds, they will usually throw an anti-depressant at you....

Since you are new, welcome to Wrong Planet! Many of the problems that Aspies experience such as depression and anxiety are stress driven. Stress is cumulative in nature. Too much stress throws your body into a distress state. The one type of therapy that several Aspies have endorsed that really hel...

Several weeks ago I was diagnosed with ASD, mild anxiety and severe depression from a psychologist. She was supposed to talk to her psychiatrist colleague in the group to start working with me and would probably recommend therapy. I’ve been calling to set something up but i haven’t gotten the confir...

Thanks those are good options for headphones and ear plugs. I don’t think I’ve ever seen ones as discreet as those. I agree. I don’t think trying to desensitize is right for everyone. I think it would bring me to a breaking point after awhile. I had the assessment and am waiting on the results. I tr...

Thanks. I do probably need to wear more ear plugs and headphones. But I am always conflicted because I would like at least in theory to eat dinner with my spouse and daughter. Maybe every once in a while? I try my best to adapt but I feel like I cannot wear headphones 24/7 and at some point I will n...

Sometimes my husband understands my “quirks” and sometimes he just doesn’t and gets defensive. The big...
