My family and I live in Santa Clarita, California. I currently attend college in Columbia, Missouri, and I was in one of my classes when I got a news notification about the Santa Clarita shooting. I was terrified because, at the time, I didn't know which high school was attacked. Luckily, it wasn't ...

Hello, everyone. I've been wondering about how to deal with my roommate in college. He's not a bad guy or anything. I just don't think that he likes me very much. He also doesn't seem very considerate of me; he leaves the room messy a lot of the time and almost always listens to his videos online ou...

I'm in college right now, and I don't really know what I want to do in the future. I don't have a real passion for anything, and I keep switching interests constantly. Right now, I don't have much in my personal life to look forward to beyond holidays with my family, but most days just seem to go by...

I appreciate all of the supportive responses. I'm still learning about how to ignore societal milestones. I was mostly concerned because my 15-year-old sister had both her first serious relationship and her first kiss before I did. I know that it's not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of thing...

I’m currently in my sophomore year of college, and I work as a desk attendant for the dorm building next to mine.

I've had crushes on girls before, and I've even asked one out online. Nothing's ever panned out, though. Is it weird to be an 18-year old and to have never been in a relationship. I just feel a little insecure considering that a lot of boys my age seem to be obsessed with sex and dating.

I'm an 18-year-old boy in my sophomore year of college. I don't know why, but I have a hard time getting along with most guys my age. I just feel so radically different from them, mainly because I'm incredibly quiet, introverted, and sensitive, and other guys seem to be very extroverted and not inte...

Can anyone give me advice on how to focus on my school work more? I get easily distracted and I zone out frequently. I know that an obvious piece of advice is "put the phone away", which I do, but I also need advice relating to motivation and to develop an interest in school work.

Words like idiot, stupid, retarded, imbecile, etc have all at one time been objective medical term used to describe a certain set of symptoms. People invariably then adopt the word as an insult, and then the word changes to reduce stigma. People then adopt the new word as an insult, and the cycle c...

I'm not quite sure if this fits in this forum, but I don't think that it would fit in "The Haven". Anyway, recently, I've been having trouble processing my thoughts and trying to understand why I feel a certain way. For instance, if I feel guilty about something or if I feel bad about myse...

In that case, what would you say that it means to be either a man or a woman in 2019? I identify as a man but I wonder if that means anything anymore.

I've been struggling with feelings of self-loathing for a while now, and it seems like the more I try to understand why I feel this way, the worse my intrusive thoughts get. I'm not very good at processing my feelings, and recently, I've been trying to come to grips with my low self-esteem, to littl...

I deal with similar issues. My mind rarely holds an opinion or an idea for a long period of time before it's replaced by something else before I'm aware of it. For instance, I'm currently in college, and I can never seem to hold on to an idea of what I want to do as a career. I also don't know much ...
