The job just wasn't a good match. If you have been able to get disability benefits, then why bother with trying to fit in jobs where mediocre people work. They're not capable if understanding your disabilities. I used to get too nervous when trained for a new job and got treated like a ret*d but whe...

I also suspect schizophrenia might be caused by too much subconsciousness. Most people only have hallucinations when we dream (a subconscious state), but in schizophrenics, this subconscious state seems to invade the conscious mind. Since high IQ people are presumably more conscious than low IQ peo...

Thanks for the advice. I wish I knew how to communicate with NT's.
To me a simple NO would do it, even my dogs know about boundaries and they are easier to deal with.
If Liane Holiday Wiley reads this please reply.
Liane has twins and she is on the spectrum.

I have two 1year old twins and one of them exhibits neurotypical traits. She is needy, loves attention just because even if I'm sick and busy and wants to be on my lap at all times. Unlike her sister she prefers social interaction from playing with toys. She always wants to talk. This is suffocating...

[quote="I don't think NTs should necessarily be thanking us, but the ones who don't treat us as equals need to rethink their views. quote] I see your point. I had tried to adapt to neurotipical life for 30 + years but in the end I developed severe anxiety w/ panic attacks that led to other physical health problems. Now, I'm 36 and I don't care at all about non-aspies, it's my life, my health, my sanity. They can try to make me normal but I know who I am...

I've been reading member's resposes and it all seems familiar to me. I'm also married to an NT and found out about AS after 4 years or marriage. First he wouldn't accept it, then he would make fun of Aspies, and later he admitted that it was a condition ( after we went all the way to a Texas convent...

After I turned 30 (30 and 10 months to be precise) I realized that I had changed. It happened one day at work when a client was upset with the manager for not meeting a deadline. I went ahead and negotiated a new deadline and the client from then on only wanted to talk with me. I was amazed at what ...
