It's a question for some of the older members here, say in their 40s and up. What are your thoughts on having already lived most of your life? Worry? Regret? Nostalgia? Hm. Worry? Nah. I don't worry much about my life when it comes to aging. It might benefit me some to worry about it. Instead, I st...

Forum: Random Discussion   Topic: what did you do on new year eve 1999

I was probably at home, sleeping. My kids were pretty young back then so I wouldn't have stayed up with them so they could bring in the new year or anything. Historically, I shun new years eve parties. Too loud, chaotic, and crazy drunk drivers on the roads after a while. Not my scene. I know, I'm b...

I've noticed you post about kids a lot. I'm curious as to why. As for the question... people might want them because it's way easier and often more fun to be able to interact with nephews and nieces than their own children. You can have all the fun of having kids around with none of the responsibili...

I live in the states. Depending on where you live, public housing is a joke. Not last summer but the summer before, a friend of mine had the apartment building he was living in burn down, rendering him homeless. He is physically disabled. About a year before that he applied for public assisted/govt ...

 Thank you. It was a rough couple of days there, but somehow I survived.

Maybe today my internal jukebox can help if that song is still taking up space in your head.

I have no preference for men or women. From personal experience, there's just as many women out there who will lie, play games, and end up being trouble for you as there are men who will. But for what it's worth, not everyone out there is like that. There really are good men (and women) out there. S...

:( Sorry that tooth is still bothering you. Hopefully things can get figured out and taken care of sooner than later. Though really, it would be even better if the thing just stopped hurting. Glad it's hurting less though.

Anyone respond to this thread who is married? I'm single now, have been for over two years now. But I have been married before. Twice. First marriage lasted about six years. I was 17 when we married, so was doomed from the start. The second (the one I'm two years out of now) lasted almost ...

I'm not sure that it is worse for single people. I'd guess that depends on a lot of things. Say you are part of a couple and your partner is abusive or selfish (for example), you'll likely be worse off as a coupled person. But I know a lot of people in healthy relationships do value not having ...
