The only time I was called up for the actual jury selection, the prosecutor asked me a question, and I thought about it for a moment, which somehow threw her. She asked me why I was thinking about it. I said, "Well, shouldn't I think about the question? Isn't that important, in this process?&qu...

There's always the old "To whom it may concern," but that may come off too impersonal.
If there's a Hiring Team, you could use that, "Dear Members of the Hiring Team." Or "of the Board" or whatever.
Almost seems like anything could very well come off wrong...

I got 14/20, but the test was more useful to me in a slightly different way. Looking at and reading their descriptions of facial emotional expression, I noticed that my facial expressions for some emotions are VERY different from what is described. Also, I agree that I had much more time to full-on ...

I get excellent health insurance because I’m a civil servant. Many private companies offer health insurance…..but it is usually inferior to that offered to civil servants (especially if it is a small and newer company), and you usually have to pay more. Obamacare for the people in the “uninsured bu...

It's a lot like waking up from sleep for me. I'm disoriented and a little cranky at first, then after a minute or so I'll notice physical needs. If I've been going for more than 2-3 hours, I'll need sleep and maybe even a few hours to myself after waking up before I feel I'm back to baseline. The se...

Made sense to me. I can also relate to the "official work mask" bit. When I get home, I have to shed it or I'm apparently a little difficult to deal with. With the communication, I usually feel like I'm speaking some unusual dialect to people, and we ALMOST know what the other is saying, b...

The tone/vocabulary/word usage really don't seem like a woman wrote any of that, especially the comments. It reads like a man wrote it. And there's nothing on the list about "a man that listens to me, a man that pays attention and knows what I enjoy, a man that can make me..." well, you kn...

"On a different wavelength" is a great descriptor. I feel like that constantly, even with people who normally "get me" fairly well. With strangers, things go bad quickly sometimes, especially when it becomes clear that what I'm saying is not coming across. I get frustrated with m...

I never really talk about either of mine, apart from talking about autism here. The other, no one really gets, and even if they do, they aren't as interested in it as me. Too much rejection over the years about other interests have taught me to mostly keep my mouth shut. It even keeps me from hittin...

Hmm... "Love and attraction" are pretty subjective. I'm apparently what some call "demi-sexual" and I feel no sexual attraction to someone I don't already have fairly deep feelings for. I'm not "lying to myself" about this. It's different for everyone. Don't get too att...

I'm married, but didn't have a fiancee exactly. We met after she had posted an ad on CL in "strictly platonic." We became friends, then about a month and a half later she kissed me, "out of nowhere" to me but only because I hadn't read the signals. About a year later, we moved in...

I grew up in NE Alabama, so I got both 100+ for a good month in summer and below freezing for a few weeks most winters. Now I'm in SF, so it's around the 60s for a high and the high 40s/low 50s for a low year round. The main difference between now and February this year (and most years) is that it's...

It's very nice! I sent my mother a couple YouTube videos about females with autism and she said "I don't see it." :o :? :( Sometimes a person is so invested in the person they THINK you are that they are completely unable to see the person that you ARE. My parents are the same way about a...

I think I've only had a couple meltdowns, both at times when I was already massively stressed and just one more thing piled on, and I just lost all control. Yelling, fast fast pacing, punched a wall once, that sort of thing. I dissociate during them, and it's a super weird feeling watching myself do...

If the clock has been good up until recently, it may be the backup battery(ies.) I had that happen once. Check the bottom or the back for the battery compartment and replace them, see if that helps. The sort of clock I'm talking about is the plug-in sort, but with battery backup in case of power fai...

I can't remember the last time I remembered a holiday without being prompted. I'm really bad about it. It causes problems.
