Personally I feel I lack emotional interpretation both of myself and others. I strugfle to innately understand what I am feeling including whrn empathizing with others which can make it seem like I don't empathize even when I do.

For me romantic and sexual relationships are relationships and friendships are relationships. What matters is not what sort of relationship you h... |

I think it would be easier to get dates and get into relationships but not easier to find real love and a meaningful relationship. Being autistic cuts a lot of BS people from my life quickly. I also don't feel the need for a partner so I am less likely to make bad choices. I married my best friend s...

If you're immunocompromised like me be extra careful cause our bodies are bredding grounds for antibiotic resistant bacteria. Also I'm staying in quarentine till 2022 for sure anyways. No chances. I know too many dead people.

While being poly might not be popular or mainstream I find poly people are often more mature. Particularly more so than serial monogamous people who go through partners rapidly. It also depends on where you are. In my LGBT circles poly people are just as in demand as monogamous. Seeing poly people o...

My husband and I both identify as polyamorous. We don't really understand the difference between having multiple friends and having multiple partners in the sense that one is considered normal and the other strange. We are married and have made a commitment to eachother to be together for life but w...

My advice would be to go to A&E next time you have been physically hurt and get the doctor to write up a report. Many hospitals also can provide a social worker to properly submit that report to police. It sucks that is whats necessary and is total BS that we don't just believe victims of abuse ...

Responding to OP: you just perfectly described the ground rules in our house as two married autistics. They make a big difference and are things we have always done some of with eachother but structuring it is still helpful as arguments happen and these rules keep things civil and prevent misunderst...

Its a trade off. I don't need friends the way NTs do but I kinda agree with the sentiment that _most_ people are rather crappy and so I try to keep a collection of friends who are not. "High quality people" as I like to say are rare and should be valued as friends even when that is hard wo...

I basically don't plan on comming out until we reach herd immunuty. I'm currently bedbound due to illness anyway so its not like I have a lot ... |

Update: I have met with my new therapist a few times now and she definitely thinks I'm autistic but we're not going through with a formal diagnosis right now partly for immigration reasons. My parents also had a lot of input of sensory and social issues I had as a kid but forgot about. One thing I r...
