And while we're thinking about thinking I have another theory of how I'm different from NT's. Here's my theory: Everybody lies because everybody has secrets. Everybody lies to hide their own secrets. But nobody knows which secrets everybody else has and how many . So nobody can guess who will be lyi...

I'm aspergers. I have concluded that I can't be conniving. There must be some ability required to make conniving possible. I think it's the skill related to theory of mind. Devious tricksters probably have good agility with theory of mind. It becomes dangerous for me because I can't detect when some...

A tragedy on many levels. What a horrible way to go! His manifesto sounded so much like all the other conspiracy theories we know aren't true. His manifesto said, at the end, that he couldn't report any details or proof about his theory because the government has his laptop which contains his resear...

I'm very dubious about this plan. Who's going to pay for it? By the time the political wrangling is over it will probably be too late.

No. I've never heard of transautistic people. But I've never heard of the "Infantilization of autistic people" either. My first impression of transautistic people was to think of it as a white man wearing a "white lives matter" t-shirt because he thinks blacks are getting away wi...

I'm trying to age gracefully. I'm 70. I'll retire next month. During the pandemic I lost 140 lbs. (64.5 kg) to get to a healthy BMI. I'm not overweight. I've been able to keep it off for 2 years so far. I'm fit. I gave up sugar and ultra processed food during my weight loss and I think that's why I ...

I think NT's constantly lie to one another. They're use to it. They know not to believe each other. When an autistic comes up with a request or boundary they just think we're lying like everybody else.

Yes. I wear the same hoodie sweatshirt, blue jeans, white socks, black walking shoes every single day. I've done it for over a year now that I've self diagnosed with Aspergers. I think of it as my uniform. It gives me a sense of security and stability. It's not as bad as it sounds. Nobody sees me an...

10 years ago my eating was out of control. I was a sugar addict. Ice cream was my downfall. I bought it by the gallon tub. At my worst I weighed 306 pounds (139 kg) I tried the Atkin’s diet and lost about 100 lbs (45 kg) on it. It took 18 months. It is a very restrictive diet, but it worked for me b...

It's fructose. Our bodies evolved to use fructose as a seasonal trigger to keep eating. When fruit becomes ripe in season we would eat it. That triggered our metabolism to start adding fat and give us cravings for more as long as there was food available. The feast and famine response. Now that fruc...

Marijuana. It's legal in my U.S. state now. But I used it long before it became legal. I was 67 before I discovered bourbon wouldn't give me a hang-over. So then bourbon was my favorite drug. Then I gained 100 lbs because I drank it irresponsibly (binge) and alone. By age 69 I quit all alcohol and l...

I've been watching a lot of Youtube videos about intermittant fasting and autophagy. They say it can reset your metabolism. But it isn't safe to do it unless you learn how to do it safely.

Congratulations on your personal achievement. I know it isn't easy. So many of us are struggling with weight and healthy eating habits.
My story is similar to yours. It had to get bad before it got better.

I'm sorry you're going through this. I'm wondering if you're also having high sugar spikes just before you get the low blood sugar symptoms. Could you test your blood sugar throughout the day with one of those glucose monitors for a while, to see if there a pattern to this? That would give you somet...

I’m 70 years old and retiring this year as a Computer Programmer. I have already made personal financial changes to fit better in a fixed income retirement environment. My autism keeps my interests very narrow, so I am content just doing my own thing and letting the world pass me by. Since the house...
