^ Yes, I know there are more recent examples, but I was trying to stay out of current politics. :D There is some evidence there was a real person, Jesus. Not much, I'll grant you. And he was revolutionary for his time. And the development of the religion and the documenting of the gospels was done ... |

The rulesets of role-playing games like BESM, Dungeons & Dragons, GURPS, Paranoia, and Traveller. Hey, me too! Not all of those systems specifically, but if you give me a TTRPG rule book I will likely know how to play it proficiently in an hour, and in a week I will probably know more about how... |

It is indeed a myth that people with Asperger's/ASD hate fiction. However, it is true that a very high proportion on the spectrum do not like it. Not a majority, per se, but a significant enough portion of people with ASD are more prone to like books containing factual info. It is a prominent common... |

These people always seem to pick on Christianity for some reason, never having a similar article about other religions. It seems the mild mannered nature of the religion makes it an easy target. What makes you think Christians are mild mannered? Think Crusades, the Inquisition, And so on. There are... |

The RAADS-R is meant to be taken with the benefit of somebody who knew you when you were younger, if available (And yes, it is not always possible to get somebody to help with it). You have to gauge whether you think a particular answer is "Mostly True" or "Mostly False" by way o... |

Understanding that no one is "like" another person is one of the harder things to come to grips with. Most people strive for normalcy, to be part of the collective, but in modern culture, we also like to think that we are unique, one of a kind, and that we break the mold. We tend to create... |

To be direct, what *is* the noise? Not your experience of it, what is it actually?
That will help determine what can be done to help. |

I have been called "Choirboy," "Goody-Goody," and "White Knight," all in derogatory fashion. As KraftieKortie suggests, people often insult things that make them feel insecure or that they do not understand. Some people will use such terms in a non-insulting way, and me... |

There are obvious downsides to being unable to express ones frustrations or emotions. One is that it can result in psychological trauma and compound already present conditions (or cause new ones to occur). That is not to say that being able to vent is at all times permissible. Doing so in a healthy ... |

I do not think suicide should ever be considered. I do not know what circumstances you are going through exactly, since all that you are noting is that you are experiencing noise related stress related to somebody else. Are you able to isolate yourself from this person? are there ways you can minimi... |

I tend to end up posting on a lot of Atheist FaceBook sites, not because I am an Atheist, but because I tend to agree with them more frequently than not. I am in a really strange and unique place in the theology department... Atheist Republic tends to have people who are very politically minded, and... |

I get frustrated by the way society seems to operate on certain premises, yet it violates those premises all the time especially in regard to how it treats individual human beings. In theory society works, but in practice it is a mess, and I get tired seeing the disparity between the two, and also g... |

No, there isn't. It is a rough generalization that explains what having disability is like to those without, but there is no formula to determine if you have X spoons or what costs a spoon, what does not cost a spoon. It is simply an analogy used to help people without disability understand those wh... |

I find it hard to distinguish the line between "fidget" and "stim," especially when discussing possible ASD or ADHD stims. I find that noting frequency is really helpful. As an example, I have something I *do* consider a stim, which has been exhaustively discussed here (Leg shaki... |

Finally understanding the things that make me the way I am. I think that a distinguishing point might be not that people on the spectrum struggle with social interaction and conversation, but rather that doing so is not *intuitive* to them. While an NT person may quickly pick up on the ebb and flow of being social, to a person with ASD those things are alien... |
