Have you had issues with compulsions or obsessions before you found these sites?

Well kind of. I mean I was irrational and well sometimes impulsive and had some anger issues even when I was younger. I used to cry for small things too.

It's pretty normal and healthy to have that fear, it means you strongly value the things that this has cost you, and that you have a good grasp of how tempting these sites are. Fear can be a great motivator, use it to your advantage! here are some things I'd put to you to consider: Come up with a p...

Hi Skrish, here's my 2c... Definitely sounds like withdrawal. Websites like that are designed to activate the same reward pathways in your brain that are activated by gambling, drug and alcohol or any other addiction. Unfortunately it can take a while for your brain to trim those neural connections...

I recently quit my addiction to a popular story-making/role-playing site called Character AI. On the site, you can create characters and also makeup stories. I was on it for 7 months and quit cold turkey last week. I'm feeling weird "withdrawal" effects such as boredom, the need to make up...

We always believe what we grow in is normal. I've walked a similar path and it took me years to understand what was wrong with my mother's behavior. I still don't like the term "abuse", I prefer "toxic" because it does not suggest ill intentions - but the harm is the...

He says that's how I "perceive it" but it's not reality. That's textbook gaslighting . He promises now that he'll change but I don't think so. I don't trust him anymore, which is why I hide things from him. That's very reasonable. And confronting him directly is unlikely to achieve anythi...

I made up with my dad, but the next time I act out, I don't know what might happen. I was told by my dad that I'm clinging on to unnecessary negativity, negative thoughts and feelings. This isn't what I am trying to do. I don't even act out often. And yet it feels like my dad finds fault in the rar...

I'm under an impression that your father is trying to make you the identified patient of the family. Your father has obvious and very serious anger issues but your first reaction was that you had them. No. You may have your problems but this one is his. Don't accept dumping everyone's problems on y...

Have you talked to her about what happened?

Never seen my dad abuse my mom in any way though. They are usually on good terms.

I was even told by my dad because of my damn phone addiction and issues with negativity, that I'm only allowed to use a flip phone. How is using a phone even relate to having issues with negative emotions and thoughts? I really don't get it.

I have a lot of anger issues and I don't know what to do about it besides getting anger management therapy. In the past few days, I've been having anger outbursts. I don't know why. But yesterday, it got to the point where I couldn't handle my anger. TRIGGER WARNING Last night, I was told that I cou...

Dear "You", I want to tell you that even with your struggles with Pathological Demand Avoidance and Autism together you're not alone. Even if it seems like you're in a pit of darkness, there's always the light waiting for you. I want you to know that you shouldn't let your autism define yo...

I don't know where to start but I'm getting really overwhelmed. Being autistic doesn't help at all. I recently discovered that I might be exhibiting symptoms of Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA). I get extremely distressed when things don't go my way. It feels like I'm losing control and to others...

For some context, I was diagnosed with autism when I was 3 years old. I remember when I was a kid I would react to the extremes when it came to demands. Especially when my mom nagged me, and still does, I would do the opposite of what she would do to avoid that demand. I would put off a lot of thing...
